Didn’t mist it was water droplets falling off the lid.

I usually shake off the excess water on the lid, or wipe it if needed, I have lost a tub years ago with a drip in the same spot over and over that I didn't catch in time being neglectful and was too late. All good though, sent it outside and cased it with my compost pile and had a bountiful outdoor score. When life gives you lemons... make lemonade.
