Litte bit of a heating problem

I got a setup of 4x30W CFL's with a 120mm, 84 CFM exhaust fan and a passive 80mm intake. The space is 15"x15"x40".

The problem is that the tempature is always raising to the higher 80's even though the fan is at full speed. So I just wanted to check if there's any idea to make the intake bigger than it already is?

Use less bulbs reduces over all heat.

For your passive intake what air is being brought in?

You could be exhausting your heat only to bring it back in. Get a fresh, cool air source to pull into your growing space.

Agree with JJ, make sure your intake isn't pulling air from your exhaust. Otherwise you will need to increase air flow through the whole thing.

Thanks for the replies! I don't think the intake is taking hot air from the exhaust but I will minimize the risk of it tomorrow when they wake up.

I have been putting iced bottles directly inside of the intake and cooling the intake air a few degrees which is working pretty good. The only problem is that the ice is melted in a few hours..

The other potential problem is you're increasing humidity over time.
