Hello Everyone! This is my first attempt at growing. I've been reading on the forum for a couple years and would first like to thank everyone for the abundance of amazing info on here!!!!! I've already experienced a few problems as I had expected, but the ladies seem to be on the road to recovery. I'm still learning and trying to get and keep everything dialed in. I'm hoping for some good advice along the way.
Here's the info:
I don't know the strains of the clones as my friend mixed up the labels prior to my receiving them. Some are master kush. The others we won't know until flower when my friend will be able to help me identify.
Transplant and veg began on 12/13/15
Using (2) T5 HO 4 bulb fixtures. I have a 3rd I'm about to add.
Coco in 3 gal pots - plastic and grow bags
Temps 70-82F
RH - 40% - 48%
Canna A-B, CalMag, Cal only
Filtered Water
This is the veg Room 7'x8' approx. I'm almost finished building my Flower Room which will be 11'x8' running 2 Spydr 1200s with Co2 in a sealed environment using an intake/exhaust as little as necessary to control temps/co2/etc.
In the photos you'll see the problems I've been having along with a breakdown of my mistakes. My original plan was to start with soil. My friend who has been doing this successfully for some time pushed me to try coco. He told me what nutes to get and to water twice daily. So I did...
The first few day I did not have a water filter or PH/PPM pen, so I just used the recommended dose to feed. I also didn't pop out the holes in some the plastic pots, which didn't allow them to runoff. So we were off to a bad start torturing the ladies.
A couple days in I, put holes in the pots and let the coco dry out quite a bit... Too much most likely. I flushed next and waited a couple more days as the coco always seemed too wet to me. This was about the time I really began to focus on solving my problem. With all the info out there I began trying to diagnose and repair the plants based on everything I've been reading about coco and deficiencies as well as toxicity. I decided the best bet was to cut my nutes down to 1/2 the recommended and keep the PH between 5.5 and 6. It has been this way for the last week and the girls seem to be doing much better for the most part. I'm still not 100% sure I'm where I should be regarding EC and PPM, hopefully someone can chime in and offer some advice as to where I should be approx. In a panic I transplanted 2 into soil thinking if they do better I will transfer them all for this first run. I intend to run Doc's High Brix on the next batch.
Currently I'm running 1/2 dose of nutes and feeding in am/pm with about 10% runoff. Is it time to increase the does?
Here are photos from the beginning transplant through today. You can definitely see the learning curve. Try not to cringe...lol
