Lighting / ventilation setup

Hey guys, I'm creating a hydro tent system, and I wanted to know if anyone has ever combined their lighting and ventilation system? Its just speculation, but if I kept the glass off the reflector, would it pull outside air in, and vent some inside air out? Here's a diagram.

Could a system like this also work? There would be negative air pressure in the tent, would this be a problem?

With this you will require an additional inline fan to create air flower with in the growing area to provide air exchange... plants need plenty of air.

Can work with a passive vent at base of tent/box with an inline fan at the top to act as exhaust... might want a carbon filter if odour is percieved a problem ?

Yup thats another good option some may include a carbon filter once again & piece of ducting to the open end of the air cooled hood.

Negitive presure is not a problem with set up !

Negitive pressure only applys when you have an intake pumping air into tent & an exhaust taking it out... that all adds more cost tho

I've got a ventilation question, sorry I didnt want to make a new topic and clutter up stuff.

I have a 3x3x6.5 tent and for my ventilation I have a 400cfm fan pulling air out through my carbon filter and a 180 cfm fan blowing in new air, after my first harvest my buds were airy and small and I got to thinking that my exhaust is just pulling all the co2 out before the plants could get it.

I asked the dude at the hydro store and he said I have it setup right, is that true?

Sikbudz, your second picture would be correct. As Fuzzy said, you may want to put a filter on prior to leaving your tent.

Blazin, Your issue is more likely to be a lack of lighting, genetics, nutrients, or some combination of the 3 rather than the air.

Thank you for your help, and yes I did plan on adding a filter, a charcoal fiber filter.

Yup its fine :thumb:

On average a cubic volume meter of normal contains 350ppm of Co2 as long as ya got new air going into your tent ya just fine.

I might question hanging distance of light source & total wattage used to what type of lights you are using from bud tho, if its tad airy & small...
