Light physical dimensions

I purchased a 2000w light back in February it turned out to be a pretty decent light so when I upgraded to a 4x4 tent I brought another one. The actual wattage was 205. The dimensions of the first is 21.5x12x3.5 the dimensions of the second is 18x12x2.5. The driver of the first is smaller than the driver of the second. My question is will the 3.5” difference have an effect on my grow? I was told by customer service that they upgraded the light by making it shorter and adding more lights, so it shouldn’t be of lesser quality. I don’t know so that is why I am checking with the wise one…lol. Thanks everyone

Sounds like it would run hotter and have to be hung higher from canopy.
More diodes tightly packed in a smaller area is not ideal.

Personally I much prefer a strip light type configuration that spreads the LEDs out, runs cooler, more even light, can run the light 6" away from canopy if needed.

The newer light is/has to be a better product. The fact that it's a smaller form factor is a result of improved technology. In tech, devices are getting smaller but they're more powerful, they run cooler, and they're more efficient.
