Light height

Ok so I looked thru the 1st five pages and didn't c a ? That I have which is how high should my 1000w hps light be from my canopy at every stage

You should keep distance from your hps at least 1 ft.

I use a 600w setting for my seedlings. With a shielded and vented hood I keep it approx 22 inches above them. Once they are well established I can run it within 7 or 8 inches. A little farther if I run it at 1K.

It also makes a big difference how much air flow you have going on. Keep the movement fans blowing between the light and plants. I keep my 600 watts about 12" away but find that the light distance is mainly based on the coverage I get with my reflector. At about 12" I can cover a 4' X 3.5' area. Closer than that and the outer edges get dim.
