If you grow 4 plants get 2 female and 2 male and yank one male and save one male to pollinate the 2 females. How do you know when the pollinated plants are ready to harvest with mature enough seeds to save and use for the next batch? And how long do they need to dry before using them for another batch of plants? And should you pick one of the females early not worrying about the seeds figuring the other female will have enough.?

The seed pods within the bud will swell and some will start to split open so close monitoring with a magnifying glass will help you along nicely.The buds will mature fairly soon given the fact that the plant has done what it was supposed to do in nature, which is to produce seed. The easiest thing is just to closely monitor the plant, when the bud looks mature and you see nice healthy looking seeds peeking out at you then the seeds are finished. Simply dry the plant as you would any other plant and when the plant material is dry enough the seeds will start to easily fall out of the bud when squeezed and with that your seeds are finished, there is no waiting period for when you can use the seed it is viable as soon as the bud material is dry enough to extract the seed. As for pulling one early that depends on if you think you have enough seed to fulfill your needs...
