No it’s not a first time, just looking at changing gavita1000de to led and wondered which ones are similarMight be easier to say what size your grow space is and what your budget is. Be plenty of good LED lights to recommend then.
There is lux, and then there is penetration. Your Gav does both well, the LED only the first.Yes I know the gavita are a brilliant light. But I’ve just seen jungle boys on cannabis cribs or something like that and they are claiming the luxx one they use matches a 1000 watt hps. I was hoping it wasn’t just bollocks
I’ve just seen one on mars claim 3g/w … was 800 w I thinkThere is lux, and then there is penetration. Your Gav does both well, the LED only the first.
[hearsay]To get comparable yields, you would have to SCROG or SOG.[/hearsay] Or so they say. I cant say I notice a lot of difference between budsize on my plants between the 200W LED and the 250W HPS. Below the screen that is.
So yah, consensus seems to be the hearsay part, but so far I'm not convinced. Disclaimer: still getting familiar with the quircks of my current girls, could be me holding the HPS one back.
Those claims are generally based on SCROG or SOG setups when talking LED, afaik, due to the penetration 'problem' LED has.I’ve just seen one on mars claim 3g/w … was 800 w I think
One that is designed to cover the area more evenly (unless 1:1 greenhouse), has spectral control options via dimmers, uses monochromatic enhancements to fill the gaps in regular white which is deficient & excessive at the same time because they were poorly made for human vision. These white leds have plagued humans, animals + plants for over a decade & have caused serious problems to all x3. That is why it is imperative to use an led system that is specifically Horticultural. Not because the manufacturer says it is. Many of These are likely the least hortri-specific being white dominant or a splash off 660. Avoid those spectrums for optimal results. A well tuned burple + white combo has proven over the last decade to provide the most desired results from Horticultural to Human-Centric. Essentially you want a Hortri-Centric led. There is only one to my knowledge.Hi , which Leds would replace a gavita 1000de ?
