Hi Jo, or should I say neighbour - over the water mate

When I switched to LED to save power, I went through some quite expensive branded ones - hmmm...
But guess what I'm using now? 2 x 120w cheapo lamps lamps with veg/bloom switches, so min is 60w red or blue, both lamps on max is 240w, only needed for a few weeks
I use 60w blue for seedlings, 120w blue to cover as they get bigger then whack the reds on too at the start of 12/12
Also only veg at 14/10, dropping to 13/11 week or so before flip
It's a pretty economical setup

That extra 400w I’m using is a killer I’ll definitely have a pop over to your journal and see what’s occurring

At the mo, HPS is heating the house and cheaper to run than radiators so is killing 2 birds but definitely going to take the plunge and go LED around March.

Feel like a HPSosaurus on here amongst the lovely blue/white glow of LEDs

Got in the tent last night and done a bit more supercropping. Looked like I’d given them a right kicking by the time I’d finished….

Pleasantly surprised again this morning, all looked like they’d recovered nicely. Got darkness coming in a bit so a little rest for them. Should really do the trick.

Even the little Mazar on bottom left of the pic doing ok. Might get half an ounce off it if I’m lucky

Bulb has arrived 2 days early, no tinkling glass sound when shaken so hopefully onto a winner

Will swap the bulbs and be leaving it at 400w for the next few days. The current old bulb really should have been changed before the grow, I know it’s definitely not running at 400w due to degradation.

Just about to order some boost for bloom. Had a few good suggestions for natural boosters on another thread. Going to do my homework and incorporate into the next grow alongside Self Irrigating Pots.

The seeds my pal brought over from the US are photos. I’ve got a little 90x90x200 that I’m planning on putting up in the next few weeks/beginning of November. Going to have one big S.I.P under a 400w HPS (got them coming out of every cupboard in the house )

Should be fun, still got a bit of reading to do but will see what happens

New bulb attached, we are rocking and rolling

Might just be me but looks a lot crisper with a slightly different hue to it. Excited to see what the next week brings. Aim to introduce bloom booster Friday which will be week 4.

I think I’ve got pre-budlets at the moment, fingers crossed it’s a good time to add boost and that I’ve not started too late

you do not need 600 watts in your 90 x 90 by 200 cave.... im guessing that cm... or 3 x 3 ft x 6ft..

430 hps /9 sqft =47.77 watts per sq ft.. really anything above 50watts per sq ft is a waste and making to much heat..

600w will be for this tent at 1.2m x 1.2 (4foot x 4foot) (though in all honesty will be dialled down to 500w when inevitable light problems occur )

For the 90x90cm (just under 3 foot) was actually thinking earlier after post that’s a bit too small for 400w HPS. Might be the time I dive into CMH or LED

Probably CMH so I’m on your good side

Doobs I won’t lie I’m intrigued. I have always been a fan of Gavita, got sent a video with pulse lighting (CMH) a few year ago from marketing director there (you have to have a licence from them to sell lighting units, they can’t just go to any shop or vendor. I have one having undergone tests to prove knowledge of lighting)

At the time was £1100 per unit but Gavita claimed would absolutely wipe the floor with LEDs on the market at the time.

A couple of years ago that price wasn’t a problem. My father was diagnosed with cancer after the correspondence with Gavita and I dropped off the scene while I cared for him.

Will have a look at 2nd hand lights to check price. Think brand new they’re at £800 (you can work out Canadian dollars on Google search) but always a deal out there so might be CMH before you know it

Well it’s certainly come down in 4 years. Even more so with our weak Pound at the moment

I replied a bigger tent
And she said for f**k sake your obsessed...
So she didn't completely rule it out

The seed has been sown now let's watch it take shape into a 6x4x4
