Leaf anomaly

Bud growing from center of leaf... very strange, I have never seen anything like this before, anyone know what causes this, it’s the only one I found on the plant, I cut into to investigate.

saw some pics like this a couple weeks back, on a thread showing different random genetic mutations, 3 sets of leaves at each node, twin stems, buds on leaves etc

quite funky some ofthem lol
