Just Getting Started

Has anyone ever tried the blueberry feminized autoflower from 420?

Just set up my hydroponic Cash Crop 5.0 box and started a single seed from 420's seed bank. The six seeds I ordered came pretty quickly from Amsterdam. But what is the difference between autoflower and normal seeds?

I'm seriously only on day 4 since putting my seed in a starting medium with lights 18/6. My tiiiiiiiny little root pushed the seed capsule above the medium I'm using. I can see about 7-8mm of root with the seed at the top of it. Should I be worried that the root isn't taking properly in the medium?

The RAW nutrients that came with my box were just the Grow, Bloom, and Ca/Mg. I've got just plain tap water and 1tsp of growth nutrient in the box.

But judging from 420's description of the seed, im looking at +/- 6oz at the end of harvest. Planning on vegetating 8 weeks, then 12/12 lighting, and harvest about 60 days later. Does that sound about right? Did anyone try this differently? And should I ease into the 12/12 period or won't it matter if I switch it from 18/6 one day and 12/12 the next?

welcome to 420 tkr !!!!!!:420::welcome: auto flower means that it will flower when it starts to mature ...there should be no need to "switch" to 12/12 flower mode ................just leave it at 18/6 thru the grow....."Autoflowering cannabis varieties automatically switch from vegetative growth to the flowering stage with age, as opposed to the ratio of light to dark hours required with photoperiod dependent/short-day strains. Many autoflowers will be ready to harvest in less than 10 weeks from seed."
best of luck , might want to start a journal that will help you refer back to it on your next seed crack !!! keep us up to date and post some pics !!! (on the toolbar above click on gallery and then upload photos):high-five::Namaste:

normal seeds are photoperiod plants requiring about a 2 month veg at 18/6 for 60 days +/- (assuming it is a female plant) then a switch to 12/12 flower mode for another 60 days +\- and 2 weeks drying and curing ..... hope all this helps !!!!

You have saved my life! I am so happy that this plant will mature faster. However I am slightly upset that I chose seeds that were a little below my confidence level, despite the waiting period. This is my absolute first grow so I am trying to be extra cautious with it. Have you heard of 420 at all? If you haven't, I'd really recommend it. And for a non-autoflowering seed, it's okay to just switch from 18/6 overnight to 12/12?

And this is normal looking? I germ'd in the grow box with light 18/6 in the starter medium. I checked on it Friday and saw root, now today it looks like the root is shoving the seed capsule above the medium. I have nothing to worry about?

And I have been absolutely meticulous about my journaling. Everything I've done and plan to do, what's happened, etc. I don't think I could have kept a head on straight otherwise lol.

What about non-autoflowers? You can switch from 18/6 overnight to 12/12?

We have lift off!! It's all hydroponic! I have enough room for 6 plants that are on the shorter side. But my box came with everything: lights, nutrients, starters, water pump, fan. I'm pretty happy so far.

...looking good!...I would suggest you start a journal(just look at journal page for info on how to) and keep it updated...both with pictures and/or questions or comments...once someone makes a comment...they get notification...there's no shortage of friendly...knowledgeable folks here at :420:...and Welcome...cheerz...h00k...

I've got a journal going, but I should start one on here?

Help!! I'm seeing spots! They weren't there yesterday and since I'm doing hydroponic with a medium, I'm assuming it's either a Ca/Mg deficiency. I added 1/4 tsp of a Ca/Mg mixture

Hello,

What are you PH'ing your water to? For hydro you will want to shoot for a PH of 5.8 where as with soil you will want to shoot for a PH of 6.3.
Plants grown under LED lights have a tendency to consume more Cal/Mag though it is also possible that you have created a PH lock out by not PHing your water before you feed your plants. Also when they are this small you will want to keep your PPM very low, around 200 PPM until they get established. If you are feeding her more then that you could be burning her with to much N.
one last thing, please turn the LEDs off for the few minutes it takes to take your photos then turn them back on when your finished. It is VERY difficult to diagnose a plant with good pictures that show true colors let alone one which distorts the colors and forces us to guess what it actually looks like.

They're in a one gallon bucket and the light is 2.5 ft away. I have no idea what the pH is and i don't have a kit.
