Jury Duty on a Pot case

DWI - but no active THC in the blood, only THCa the metabolite.

I was amazed that 11 of 12 on the jury had the opinion that "ok he smokes pot but that's not the issue - he wasn't charged with that and we shouldn't care about that". All ages and races in the room - gives me hope for the future.

I'm an advocate of NORML's 5 principle of marijuana use, #2 of course being don't drive stoned. Still, they didn't prove it and my personal opinion was this was a case of DWB.

Funny listening to the cop about how he was tailgating and that's what drew their attention. Can you imagine a stoner being too close? What's the joke... officer to driver after pulling him over in a 60 MPH zone "do you know how fast you were going?" Stoner; 60-65 MPH? Cop: 25 MPH wassup?

A lot of testimony about DREs (drug recognition experts), the national standards for recongition and training etc.

The defense brought in Wilki Wilson the PhD guy that wrote the book "buzzed" and he literally ate the prosecutor's lunch. They had to call a little break to try and regroup.

Anyway, not freakin guilty - we let the man go home to his family and justice was served
