Journal Of A New Grower

Hi Everyone,

I would like to start a little growing journal as a very new hobby grower.
founding all of the different journals very helpful, I couldn't find enough beginners ones.

I will share the evolution of my 2 ladies as well as mistakes and success ( hopefully ) I am not looking at investing in the best of the best, I know my set up is not the most ideal for the BIGGEST YELD but share this for beginner like me that don't have the budget nor time to be 100% dedicated to the plants and show what to expect.

I am more than open to all of the tips and advices of all kind as I definitely don't entirely know what I am doing.

So here it is :

- x2 Feminized blue Dream Auto ( 10% - 14% )
- medium coco / perlite 50% - 50% ( will be updated to 70 / 30 when transplanted in bigger pot )
- bit bigger than party cup for seedling and 3gallon for veg and flower.
- average temp : 25
- average humidity : 60%
- light : MarsHydro 300 ( decided to add x3 - 24W / 1550l each after 2weeks as a supplement )
- water when slightly dry ( every 5days on average so far ) with PH 6.2 and Rhyzo
- growing space : cupboard 110cm / 60cm
- ventilation : oscillating fan

Germination with paper towel in 36h

Age of ladies : 16days from germination

I made a first mistake of putting them in a bit pot then decided to repot the ladies in a smaller pot as carefully as I could. I will have to again transplant them when they get to maturity ( if they do ), first big mistakes ... don't make any rushed decisions to try to get everything as perfect as possible !

One of the lady's leaves seems to keep curling more and more but keeps growing with a healthy colour. ... I have been told it could be from the LED ? The new leaves are now growing just fine !

It would be nice to view some images of the girls. Curling up or down? Is the new growth normal? Reposition the one plant and see if another is affected in the same way. The fewer the transplants, the better. I go from 16oz cups to final container (regardless of size) almost all the time.

Hi Guys,

Little update, the girls have finally started to move over the past 48h, I am not sure if it is adding the 3 CFLs, repotting them in smaller pots or me just being impatient but it is finally moving !

I decided to germinate a new girl without all of the mistakes I have made previously see if it makes a difference in growth as a comparaison.

Now, my little Dasy who already had a funky start with her twisted leaves seems to be yellowing in the middle but then turns nice green ...

Anything I should be worrying about ? I am feeding her the EXACT same thing as the other plant and she is doing just beautifully well ( pictures bellow )

Days 19 : How am I doing ?

Here is a pic of Dasy : ( the lights are on so everything is a bit paler )

Alice : her leaves are slightly curled up ... normal ? I have been watering them to saturation then letting the soil dry out. Should I keep doing so or water just a bit a bit more often ?

Massive growth overnight ( very exited new grower right here ).

I have been making a time-lapse that I will be sharing shortly.

Any advice on the watering options ?

A few concernes :

- the growth of the new one is the same as the oldest one, very slow even with the extra cfl's and without the repotting mistakes could it come from the strain or is it my set up that doesn't work?

- Dasy is still growing yellow in the middle then turns green.

- Alice and Dasy seem to not stretch out much between nodes and stay very compact.

Hi Everyone !

First month update !

The girls have been repotted exactly 1 months after germination and are accelerating finally.

They are all growing at a very different paste even though they are all getting the same treatment / feed.

They are getting extremely bushy with almost no stretch what so ever !

What do you guys think ? I would love some feedback !

Lucia : 2 weeks old and barely any move as well as a very yellow colour. However her roots are already going through the pot, seems like she's spending 100% of her energy creating a root system.

I was considering some gentle LST for the bigger girls ! would it be a good idea at this stage ?
