Monday, January 10, 2011 · 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Joplin Public Library
300 S Main St.
Joplin, MO
More Info:
The keynote presenter will be Mark Pedersen, Editor of the Medical Cannabis Journal and founder of Sensible Missouri, Missouri's patient advocacy organization. Please join us for this movie showing and enjoy FREE refreshments.
This recently premiered film is receiving rave reviews and is being heralded as one of the best medical cannabis documentaries yet released.
"What if Cannabis Cured Cancer" focuses on the anti-cancer properties of the plant and the current medical research being conducted on its active, therapeutic compounds.
Research is emerging that cannabis may possess therapeutic properties that extend far beyond coping mechanisms for current cancer treatments. As this film explores, scientific studies are finding that cannabis may be able to actually heal and possibly even prevent certain types of cancer. This may be due to the fact that all mammals already possess a cannabinoid-producing system in their bodies called the endocannabinoid system. The administration of natural cannabinoid compounds found in the cannabis plant appear to act as a supplement to this system which, in turn, results in greater overall health.
“Everyone will face chronic or terminal illness at some point in their life.” Says Mark Pedersen of Sensible Missouri. "When that occurs, all Americans should have the choice of this safe, effective alternative."
Cannabis patients from across the state will be on hand to answer questions in regard to this controversial treatment. All cannabis patients are encouraged to register at the Sensible Missouri table prior to the event to take part in the question and answer segment.
This event is free and open to the public. Bring your family and friends. All are welcomed. For more information on this and other Sensible Missouri events throughout the state, please visit Show Me Sensible Missouri! | Welcome
