Jon's First Outdoor Grow: Sugar Breath Photoperiod & Strawberry Banana Autoflower

I do indeed love this! I have never done what you are doing, but I have seen others that have and at the end of the process they didn't regret spending all that money. It does all make for a little more cost per ounce, but if the quality ends up being off the chart, I would be ok with that.
Ha! Thanks to you! I was looking in seedbanks, and managed to cut myself off after grabbing some Candy Kush photo and some Watermelon Skittlez Double XL Auto seeds, which left me enough to grab the FF ingredients I was missing. I already re-upped on the ones I was low on. I'm ready to go, just need a sprout! Funny, I would have figured as much experience as you have with the FF line and as long as you used it back in the day you would have done that. Well, now you'll see how it goes I guess. Lol. Follow directions. How hard could it be? Lol.

When I was running FF, not all of these products were available. It is indeed a brave new world!

I figured there must have been something or you'd have been doing it. I forgot you were so old that when you were a kid, dirt was a toy.

Topping Day
Gorilla Zkittlez auto, Dos-Si-Dos auto, both Sohum plants, Day 17
Strawberry Banana FF photo, in FF with Geo nutes, Veg Day 30

Just for the record, I topped these guys today. All three looked like excellent candidates for that kind of training. The other two autos I let go for now. We'll see where they are in a few days.

- Two topped autos, GZ left, DSD right
- Topped Strawberry Banana FF photo
- The girls lounging in their afternoon jawn.....lol

Well-topped and nice choice on the Chocolope! I grew one summer 2020 and got 337g of it (not counting 15g lost to rot). Worked out to 2.6g/day, which is my best production to date. Can't wait to see how yours groes at the water's edge!

Oh, and make sure this gets entered into PhOTM:

:bravo:
NICE. And thanks! Hey got any old pics of the finished bud from your Chocolope grow? I know it wasn't yesterday or anything....

I dropped a link to the plant on harvest day in my post above, but I'll put it here in case you missed it:

I almost never take bud pics, but here they are in the bowl getting weighed if that will help:

Mine came from Weed Seeds Express.

Um, THAT'S what I'm talking about. Whoa. Thanks.

Day 60

I hope these autos keep going ang going just like this. The pistil explosion continues. Now they're starting to toss around some color too. The Gelato buds are dense and falling over, needed support, they got it. The Strawberry Banana buds are among the frostier autos I've grown, and the stink so good - very sweet, dank smell, fruity, not yet quite strawberry or banana. The Gelato just smells dank as hell and outsmells the others. If they come in at 27-28% as the "world's strongest atuoflower of 2021" claims they will, I'm going to be psyched. Pretty sure I will be regardless. We should probably come in somewhere in the next 20 days or so.

So here's some pretty sweet auto porn:

Early Veg Photoperiod Seedlings
80% coco/20% soil (FF)
Day 18 Veg

No, we haven't forgotten about you babies. Our coco plants must be into the coco now (there were only a few inches of soil on top), so we have started feeding them at 5.8. Today was their second watering at that Ph and they seem just fine, so I guess I'll keep going with it. (thanks, Bill)

Here's (L to R): Blueberry, Strawberry Lemonade, and Dos-Si-Dos photoperiods in early veg, still at 20 hours of light a day in the @Mars Hydro rig. I must say, every plant I've vegged under the MH FC-E6500 since I got it has loved the spectrum for veg. That's a good thing..

Advanced Wind Screening Techniques

Lol. No, nothing technologically spectacular. Just simple, effective, and easy to set up and break down each day. I'm always tweaking my grow. Even dumb windscreening. Lol.

Here's a shot of the screening and what's behind the curtain. Forgive the girls droop - the damn afternoon backyard sprinklers came on and I missed moving the plants by about half a damn hour. Happens once a week this time of year because the rain and humidity both fall to very low. So they all just got sort of watered whether they needed it or not. Lmao. Great, another thing to write down so I don't forget. Heh.

Note: One impression so far from my first outdoor plants: it's a lot harder to overwater a plant outdoors than it is in a tent. Think I'm safe with that statement. Ha.

Unrelated Photo Post

I was walking my dog and we passed a yard we always pass. Only today it was different. They got this handsome specimen. This plant is about 15 feet across the bottom and about the same height. I thought it was very cool looking, sitting all big like this in the middle of an otherwise empty yard. This is what passes for a shade tree here. Molly said to post it cuz it's so sweet.... Enjoy.

Picture Just For Fun....
But with a Point. Heh.
Who Says You Can't Dial in the Sun?

So check out this blurry picture. I took it from the sidewalk that runs in front of our house. This is as close as I can get to them from this side. I post this picture to show you two things:

1. The overnight stealth position of the plants
2. The degree to which research and dial in, yes, even the sun.
- I told you guys how I move the plants around during the day to try to get them the best sun at all times. Well, this spot was selected for two reasons, first, it's the only spot in the whole yard which is perfectly dark at night except for moon and stars. No window light from either house hits that spot, no light from the road hits this spot. But the second reason is why I posted the picture. See the light green grass around the two plants? That's not bleached out grass. That's the last spot the sun illuminates before it drops below the rooves of the houses and is blocked till the morning. So it's 5 pm now, and they still have legit light. Late afternoon, sure, but no shade.

Heh. I tooled around my yard at dawn and dusk and mid day before I settled on this spot. Research. Tuning in the sun.

Training Photos
Day 20

So I trained out the Gorilla Zkittlez and 2 of the Dos-Si-Dos the same way I trained the Chunkadelic. I'm hoping for a similarly shaped and cola-fied end plant. The last Dos-Si-Dos was still more flexible than the others, and let me go nuts on her. All these girls are painfully healthy, and all recovered more quickly than I thought they would from the rain dousing they got yesterday for a couple hours.

Here they are trained:
