Oioiiii. Right, Very simple. You got plenty of ducting knocking about but its too small to fit ya big new fat ass fan. Well ive used this method before n it works well. Now obviously the best thing to do would be get some ducting thats the right size but this a quick, cheap and super easy fix. Now be warned i have got a dirty mouth so if ya dont like it basically, do-1 :D

Nice, but... single-wall vent reducers (aka "bell reducers") are pretty cheap here. Like $3.49 for a 6"-to-4". They can cost more if a person doesn't shop around, of course.

I did bookmark this thread, though. You never know when you'll need a solution RIGHT THE #@%& NOW, lol.

you talk funny. :p

Duct tape wins.

But it says right on the wrapper "1,001 Uses - But Not for Ducts" :hmmmm:.

Get the tape that looks like shiny aluminum instead.

I'm curious, why do we need the shiny stuff? I just used regular gray duct tape to tape my ducting to the fan and filter.
I could see using the silver shiny tape on a duct that has hot air in it, or just for aesthetics, but can't figure out why else.

Regular duct tape will eventually dry up and release making it unusable in a commercial application. Metalic duct tape once stuck is pretty much permanent and more importantly it is fireproof. For our use generic duct tape will do just fine.
