Hello all

This is my first attempt at a DWC grow and my 3rd overall grow. Hope it all works out.

Th strain is called Blue Venom from G13 labs and is a indica-dominant hybrid. it is a cross between Blueberry and WW

I will be growing using a make shift DWC set up. Home depot bucket with one cut out for a net pot filled with and Growstone GS-1. I used a rapid rooter and put the seed directly in it for germination. After about 3 day the seed sprouted and the shell began to fall off. It is now under a Mars 300W light running 18/6. Temp is Just above 20C. Would like it warmer but it is to cold up here:D. For now the water is straight RO.

I will be posting at least once a week with updates and pics to show the progress. Hope to have some followers on this journey

This pic is from today which is Day 5

So I picked up some Z9 PH stabilizer and cleaner. Gonna change the water tomorrow and use the Z9 to hopefully keep the roots healthy and the reservoir clean. I am also thinking of starting up with nutrients at a lower then recommended dose (general hydroponics biothrive grow). what is everyone's thoughts with starting nutrients this early. Is there anything else I should be adding when i change out the water(RO)

Thanks

J

I am doing my first grow in 35+ years, first dwc ever. Using General Hydroponics Flora Trio Nutrients and I started week 1 popped seeds with tap roots in rapid rooters using 1/4tsp micro, 1/4 tsp grow, 1/4tsp bloom per gallon with calimagic and hydroguard.
blue b1 is 13-14 days old blue b2 and blue b3 are 4 days younger all seem to be struggling a bit. So looking back on my first time experience, next time I am thinking about just calimagic and hydroguard until the seedlings get 2-3 nodes. Then start out with 1/4tsp each per gallon week 1 nutes.
I think I started to early, so that is my limited experience, hold back on the nutes maybe until more nodes ;)

I have done a res change with weaker nutes to maybe clean up my issues ;) My seedlings are growing just looking stressed? Maybe ;)

But like I said I am learning ;) and reading ;)

Awesome thanks or letting me know. I think your right I might hold off on the nutes for atleast another week.

Do you have a journal going. would love to follow since our plants are so close in age.

Thanks again

Been a learning experience ;)

Hey Johnny I think you may get some mixed answers. Some say no nutes till a bit later but I have seen some pretty experienced guys say they start with nutes right away. 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended dosage.
I think the most important part here is that you keep the water far enough under the net pot that it's not keeping the rapid rooter is not staying too saturated and you let the bubbles splash up and just keep it moist and keep the roots searching for water.
Just my 2 cents

"staying too saturated " could be one of my issues since I am using top-fed

Thanks any ideas advice is welcome ;)
