Strain: White Skunk (Sensi Seed Bank) (Sativa)
Pot Size: 5 gallon nursery pots
# of Plants: 2
Lights: (3) 65W CFL's, each putting out 4,200 lumens. 18/6 to start Veg.
Grow Type: Indoor
Soil: Fox Farms Ocean
Date Planted: 3-2-2010

This is my first grow ever. I am growing in an old dresser. Just wanted to start a Journal so I could take advantage of all the help available. I planted yesterday and I am just waiting for a sprout.. (2 white skunk)

I will add pics of set up later.

I am really excited to be an active member of the forum and look forward to talking to all of you. Any input you experienced growers have, is more than welcome. I have spent months reading the forums and educating myself, but I am still a rookie. (no field training haha)

Thanks :roorrip:

Thanks a lot Zinko that thread was exactly what i needed!

Here are my 2 girls! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. I will get some real pictures up here soon. :thumb:

Peace brother. +rep for a great start!

Thanks a lot guys! I'm glad I caught a few peoples attention. Hopefully, when some more interesting stuff happens, more will follow. :thumb:

As far as more info, I am running a soil grow using FF Ocean. Seeds are White Label White Skunk, I bought from Sensi Seed Bank in Amsterdam. Watering with distilled H2O every other day, spraying the plants with distilled H20 just before dark cycle on the days I dont water. No nutes yet, on an 18/6 light schedule. 3 Lights are 65W CFL (150w equivalent), Lumen out put for all 3 lights is right around 13,000. Height is a restriction with this grow, so I think I will FIM sometime next week when the plants are about 3 weeks old. The plants are starting to smell so delicious and skunky, I cant wait to see the buds from this plant. :bongrip:

They look a little deep in their pots, no? Good call on no nutes, she will either tell you with a deficiency or cotyledons starting to yellow when she's hungry.

I wouldn't FIM, as it's an unpredictable technique, just top above the 2nd node (leaf pair) once they've grown to 4-6 nodes, they'll be ready to bounce back faster, nearly immediately. You'll then have 4 apically dominant "colas" or stalks to train out and you will have a very balanced canopy, a must for height restriction and CFLs. I'd also invest in more light in the future, but not yet needed right now :p

You seem to be doing a good job, I'll surely be checking in. Good luck on your first grow!

I just added 3 more lights. 3 23W 6500K CFLs each putting out 1600 lumens of daylight equivelant. :bongrip: Bringing my grand total lumen output to about 17,400 lumens. This is giving me almost 9,000 lumens for each plant. I have noticed that one plant is growing significantly faster than the other. Both planted at the same time, but one is almost done with her third node starting fourth while the other barely has a second one? Genetics I'm guessing, I planted my largest seed and my smallest seed, don't ask me why haha. The large seed is also the larger plant. Trying to scrounge up some dough for a decent digi camera. Sorry for lack of pics guys, please bare with me! :ganjamon:

We are bearing with you amigo, there is no rush ;-) It isnt that uncommen for strains tio get mixed up, sometimes peopel throw out the runt but in reality it could have been a different strain or even different motherplant.

I would have to agree with AFKa, lst seems a hassle free solution

DAY 14...
Today my plants are 2 weeks old. I stopped by the Hyrdo store and picked up their birthday presents :roorrip: I picked up some Mexican bat guano, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom. Along with a PH test kit. The guy was so helpful in the store and knew exactly what I needed. Plants are looking real good, I'm going to finally post up some good pics tonight. Got a hold of a decent digi camera ;)

Hola Jarman

Certainly Salamanca is particularly scenic, fortunately somehting that a lot of Spain offers, it has the lot basically; The Med, The mountains, the traditions, sun and even snow.

The sun was what attracted me here in the first place, weather in Uk the main talking point of us Brits as it is so crappy, raining and miserable all the time. I have lived all over Spain and love it here.

Currently I am near Almeria on the south East coast, the only official desert in Europe by all accounts and its great here too if a little quiet. My work takes me to popular cities liek Barcelona and Valencia and Madrid so I get the best of all worlds I feel.

Certainly a lot of crappy smoke about tho, all the best grows are done in house with very little dealing, indeed what you can get is usually poor ex pat grows and Morrocon stuff. This is what has led me down the homegrow route myself so that I can produce natural goodness of high quality (in theory)

Open house here so if you ever in the neighbourhood... :passitleft:

Looking forward to the pics

Saludos

DAY 15...
Ok guys, so I have my first question. Don't know who's all watching out there but hopefully someone can help me. On my larger plant the bottom two leaves are starting to show very very small signs of what looks like yellowing of the tips. To small to even get a picture. She's on her third node now. Also, the same leaves are twisting a bit but only the bottom two, all others look great! I'm not feeding it yet, lights are about 3" away, P.H. is good. The only thing I can think of is heat maybe? Really sorry about not having pics, I promise I will have some soon. :thanks: :ganjamon:

Day 15, you should probably be actually giving some nutes now amigo, the bigger they get the more food they require. Try adding some veg nutes at half strength, something like 3ml per litre and see if they pick up in the next day or two. These veg nutes can 'usually be added between weeks 1 and 3. If they take it well you can step up to around 5ml per litre.

This is average depending upon the brand, read the instructions for your particular veg nutes

p.s if its too hot for them it will be too hot to the touch, literally a case of putting the back of yer hand on the lights and see if it burns!

Thats a good tip Lions, mine are definitely not too hot too the touch at all but i thought it was too hot for them (probably around 90-92 with a cool breeze of 75) i hope your right.

Sorry i don't have any advice for you Jarman mine have spots too and i can't find a good answer. Hopefully one of us will!

Thanks lions :thanks:
I gave them some 1/3 strength Bat guano tea and left my back panel off today for some extra oxygen and cooling. They look healthy, no spots, just the very tips of the first set of leaves (not cotyledons) are a bit lighter shade of green. But other than that the plant has taken off like a rocket. It's 3 times the size of my other plant. I'm thinking maybe it ate up all the nutes quickly or I may be giving it a bit too much water. I'm going to let it dry out and see what happens.
:roorrip: The other plant is looking great! It's growing kind of slowly compared to the other, but looks healthy as can be.

You do want the temps at the top of the plants around 78 degrees amigo. Ensure you measure in these correct areas.

The lighter color on the new leaves is normal depending on how it looks, take a pic and post it if you think your baby is getting sick though.

If they darken within a day or so as they get larger then it is quick normal, it takes a bit for the plant to pull the immobile nutrient's from the soil.

Peace
