January 1, 2014 - Info On Colorado's Laws, Stores, Strains, Events

Re: January 1, 2014 anyone need info On Colorado's Laws, Stores, Strains, Events.

I just heard a rumor today that recreational MJ sales will be suspended mon and tues to allow the stores to restock inventory. Is there any validity to this? I also heard from same source that prices were raised to 75/eight to slow down the demand??

That is absolutely ridiculous. I heard ppl are driving from all over the country to buy the "CO chronic". And the stores are allowed to essentially price gouge the f*ck out of ppl?

I don't know at all if this is true. I live in CO but no where near any of these stores.

Very curious if this is all true.
Edit: My wife and myself just went into a retail outlet (unnamed).
We were told to take a number and sit in a very cold room with others waiting. When the door was cracked u could see it was packed. I asked a girl what they were selling their product for. She said 20$/gram for all their stuff. We left, that is so crazy to wait in the cold for $70 eighths. That just ain't right. I have a grower friend in Denver who is going to give me a days worth of head stash for free. That's what's up. My dumbass only brought a bowls worth with me thinking I'd "try going in a pot shop for my first time and sampling dispensary weed".
Everyone in the Dispensary biz was in on this. The good dispensaries wait the dispensaries with good bud only dropped their price last year some only $5. When I first got my red card in 09 the Top buds where 50 and up plus tax for an eighth. Than the good dispensaries found fast flower potent buds they could keep up supply with giving them a chance to drop the price. So the crappy shops stayed crappy or closed, the good shops grew and the Dank shops stay expensive. Shops that are in Business were the only ones to get a Rec. Licenses so they new they were getting to gouge the customers again. Next year more licenses issued so buy 2016 the price will be way down everyone in CO. will grow more and the out of town supply will be filled. The sad thing is the majority of the Rec. Shops are the ones that pull plants early and are more of a disappointment than a great score.

I suspect it will take a full season for the supply to catch up with demand.

my guess a year or two

Re: January 1, 2014 anyone need info On Colorado's Laws, Stores, Strains, Events.

There is an Expo Coming up Feb 28 and march 1,2 this should be fun and cheaper than the Cup and less crowded and free stuff.

Re: January 1, 2014 anyone need info On Colorado's Laws, Stores, Strains, Events.

I was just blown away by $70 in eighth. That seems like a crime. I think they get away with that because of the influx of out of staters and all the cash they bring. If I drive cross country for a bag of weed I guess I pay what ever is charged.
I grow my own and it's a lot better than most dispensary product I've tried.
So the Rec shops don't get my money. But they are just fine with that I guess. Still cool that its legal here!

Oh and I didn't look for clones so idk.

303 could u post a link for expo?

Re: January 1, 2014 anyone need info On Colorado's Laws, Stores, Strains, Events.

Ok than these money hungry D bags Emali me this: Due to recent changes in licensing, regulations and the passage of Amendment 64 legalizing adult-use there have been many changes to the way our business operates. Specifically, our costs to operate and maintain compliance have dramatically increased since September 2013 when the State and Local governments began new licensing requirements, new licensing fees and a new plant tracking system that requires the use of RFID technology.

What's noteworthy and largely due to the increase in costs is;

1.Cannabis is an agricultural product which inherently has a large variable in regards to cost of production due to weather conditions.

2.The new regulation requiring the use of RFID is about 5x the cost of what other businesses have to pay. Furthermore, whereas any other business is allowed to "re-use" and "re-cycle" RFID tags, the State law requires that we have to purchase new tags each time we plant a new plant. That cost is entirely unnecessary, but is a requirement to which we have to abide. To explain this another way; our industry is unduly being required to purchase and use a common technology used by many other businesses, but is required to purchase from 1 supplier the State has approved and we're not allowed to re-use RFID tags that are traditionally and normally reusable. Note that the RFID is only for tracking plants from grows to stores - it stops there and is not tracked in sales to customers.

3.Also, due to the new regulations and the requirements being implemented on State licensed operators to have certain employees designated solely to certain roles has required the company to increase staffing thus raising costs.

It is regretful that the cost of these regulations and fluctuations in cost of production gets passed through to the customer, but unfortunately that's necessary for the company to remain viable and to continue to operate and provide services.

We believe this will be a short-term event in pricing changes and we'll see pricing stabilize to lower levels in April 2014, but no one knows for certain. Right now - that's the company's best guess as to when we believe stabilized production and absorption of new costs will be fully realized.

We're hopeful that you'll continue to remain with Greenwerkz and we'll do everything in our ability to ensure that your cost of medicine is not prohibitive to your well-being.

Effective Monday, January 13th, Greenwerkz will be raising it's prices for both members and non-members. Current prices will be in effect through this weekend, so come stock up.

Thanks for your understanding and long-term support.
