It's freezing outside = cold house. Need warm place to germ seeds?

So it's about 13 degrees F where im at. I have a nice fem. Church seed that im wanting to germinate. Only problem is that I know there is no way it will germ in my house at these temps outside even with my heater on and all... So im looking for suggestions on warm places in a house/apt that has consistent heat. I read it needs to be 70-85 F for seeds to germ. I was thinking about opening my desktop computer case and putting a cup inside with a moist paper towel and seed inside it, then close up my computer case and leave it on for a few days or until germinated. Anyone know the temp inside an average computer case while it's on? What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

You can get a heating pad for around 20 USD - But do you have a cable box? They stay hot, and I have mine to germinate on (Plate and bowl method) since I started, always works! Good luck!

Ya Bro, Get A Heating Pad, I Like Using The Plastic Cookie Container That You Get In The Deli For A Dome, But Put Your Wet Paper Towel & Seeds In The Dome, Put The Heating Pad In A Sock Drawer, The Dome On Top Of The Heating Pad (lowest setting should be fine), Then You Can Put Some Towel's On Top Of The Dome, And You Are Good To Go, I Have Had Them Pop In 24-Hours Doing This Method.

Thanks for the replys... I did think about doing to paper towel method (I have done this method before, just not in these temps) on the cable box, but my apt is just so cold and my cable box really doesn't put off that much heat. So I think I may try the heating blanket...

So this is how I understand it... Turn the heating pad on low, put the moist paper towel and seed in a small plastic container (like one that left over food goes in), and then wrap the heating pad around the plastic container?? Does that sound right?

Ya, That Sounds Like A Good Plan, You Might Want To Add Some Bath-Towel's On Top Of It All To Help Hold The Heat.

Be pretty careful if you're using a heating pad that isn't specifically for germinating seeds.

The ones for sore muscles often get too hot even on the low setting to use safely for germination. I've seen seeds get cooked here from using regular heating pads.

If you can check the temp with a thermometer, you don't want it to get much over 80F.

Yah, the ones made for seedlings and germination are pretty reasonable imho.... 18.99 at the hydro store, I checked this morning! Of course, that is where I am, the prices could be much different.
