Well this is my first indoor grow and supposedly it a cali kush plant. I just start 12/12 cycle and I was wandering if its ready for flower

Love the split. I'd veg it out and top it some to get more out of it.
In my humble opinion, it could use a lot more vegging. Seems like you might see 2 lollipops out of it when it grows out. No reason you shouldn't boost that to 8 or 12 with a bit more vegging and a couple more cuts.
Remember, the big leaves are the engines driving growth. The more, the merrier.

In your opinion is this kush? And where do I top it. I topped it once coming into veg hince the split but do I top the mains? Also I have limited space o only have about 2 and a half feet of vertical space available. That's why I'm starting 12/12 sativa are supposed to shoot up during the first couple of week of flower right?

Oh... and there's just no way anyone could tell you what the specific strain is. We might guess as to sativa or indica dominant based on leaves and nodes, there's just no way to pin down the specific strain except for a few color based guesses.

Do you plan on flowering them under the cfls? That might make the 2 main colas concept more attractive. 2 cfls is a bit thin even for veg.

I have them under one 20w cfl at 2700k and a 23w cfl at 5000k about 3500 lumens I think. I was wanting the two colas that why I don't wanna top the mains but if it will help her I will do it I just need some guidance

Same concept as the original split... just done twice instead of once creating 4 colas. Then, after that split veg's out some, do another round... this time taking 4 cuts total and splitting the plant into 8 colas. You can continue if you have the head room and create a 16,32, or even more headed monster. Your nute needs and root room needs will really escalate (especially in flower).
You get the idea. Beef them up as much as possible for your grow area.
For example.... I run a 400w HID light in my flower area, and I feel that I can support 2-3 flowering plants at a time. My goal is to adjust my veg time and size to keep the flower area as filled as possible. At this exact time, circumstances dictate that I keep a plant in my veg area a bit longer as I wait for room to open up in my flower area. It will have about 32 tops shooting up when I put it in flower and has a nice even top with 8 colas at the moment.

Once you start splitting it, you might as well split it as much as possible. They can grow huge main colas if you have a natural grow and don't top it, but once the scissors split it once, you may as well continue as the remaining colas all have similar possibilities.. Make sense?.... been drinking rum and watching the games.

Oh... and you need more wattage in your CFLs. Really, you probably can't get enough. I use Y light socket splitters and hang about 5 23w CFLs as secondary lighting in my veg and bloom areas. Low wattage... lots of lumens... get them inches from the plant with no heat damage. They may not drive dense production... but they sure can work in a small grow and help me a lot with my grow.

Ahh.. Well at this point I really want to see some results but I have two unknown strains about to go into veg. I will definitely try to make more colas on my next grow. Also I want to do a control and do absolutely nothing to it. Would this be beneficial?

So how many more 20w CFLs should I use.. I would have more but I'm on a very limited budget and this is all I have available

Also I think it more like 3 months and it never preflowered so I don't know the sex for sure. Judging by the pics do you think its male or female

I use 5 as side lighting for my 400w HID.
I daisy chain them together with light socket Y's.
How many more.... as many as you can put in. Generally, CFL grows yield less than .5grams/watt. HIDs and LEDs can hit more than 1 gram/watt. The more watts, the fatter and beefier your plants and buds. With CFLs, you'll end up with lighter and airier buds.
As for sexing.... I'm not able to tell you till 2 weeks into flower. Others seem better at the technique than I. Perhaps someone will chime in.
