Is there a point to freezing weed?

My new roommates store their weed in the freezer, but don't really know why. They just know people who smoke a lot of weed who do the same thing and figure its better than not doing it. So, is there a point to freezing your weed?

I guess if you where storing a lot for a while or buy it in bulk and smoke a bit at a time, myself i used glass jars, i've heard of people taking some buds from a good grow and throwing them in the freezer, obviously packaged good, then you'd have a sampler for a rainy day, of that good strain you grew last year or something. Never really done it myself though.

If you wanna blow up all the trich's, freeze it. I would consider storing it in an air tight, light tight container in the crisper part of the fridge.

What boss said; if you want to separate the kief from the buds, I find it beneficial to put the weed in the freezer cause it makes more kief that way. Also I'd think it would keep the smell down if you had a bunch.
