Is 18 hrs too much "dark" time during flowering?

that is the perfect timing for vegetation, they need that much light so they don't start to flower.

oops I just noticed it should be the other way around 18hrs light and 6hrs dark.

18 hours dark? Yeah that is way way to much dark time for any stage of growth other than germination. lol You need atleast 18 hours of light for veg up to 24 hours of light. Not till flowering can you drop down to 12/12 light/dark period.

now that the pups have been used to the wrong lighting cycle,
i.e. 18 hrs darkness during flowering,...can she still switch back
to the appropriate timing for flowering, i.e. 12/12? thx again.
p.s. these hydro pups are old...about 2 mos, but they're only 7 inches or so...though the female stigmas are starting to show and there are smaller spaces between the new growth nodules...that's why my friend wants to force them to flower...QUESTION: should she take them back to "veggie stage" until they're at least a couple inches bigger, and switch back to the "gro" neut? Thx.

my plants are only 7 and 8 inches and they are flowering now
