Light strain#1: 60 watt full spectrum light and will upgrade to 100 watt full spectrum
Strain #2 light: 40 watt light will upgrade to 60 watt than 100 watt
Strain#3 light 40 watt light will upgrade to 60 watt light than 100 watts
All strains spent over a week under Florissant seedling light.
Strain#1 gets southern light from 1-3pm
Strain#2 gets eastern morning light 8-12pm
Strain#3 doesn’t get any sunlight what so ever but I set up an extra light anyway
Soil: coco coir, peat, softwood biochar, perlite, gypsum, diatomaceous earth, earthworm castings, poultry litter, feather meal, dolomite, bone meal, bone char, and sulfate potash
Nutrients veg: compost tea(2-2-2 compost, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, epsom salt, molasses), coconut water, diluted urine as liquid nutrients. 2-2-2 compost, white clover, used coffee grinds, boiled eggshells that I reboiled than crushed in coffee grinder for calcium as dry amendments
Notes: started strain #1 and #2 in 1 gallon fabric pots so I didn’t have to transplant strain #3 was started in a solo cup that I drilled a hole in the bottom so I could practice transplanting. When I switch to bloom cycle I will be putting them in my closet with a fan for dark period until than I just shut the lights off at midnight and turn them on at 4am. Also I play meditation music, binaural beats and music for my plants. I find it works does anyone else do this?

Very cool. Beautiful scenery too! What a view for that little lady!

She’s coming on really well considering there’s not much light.

Love the training you’re doing too.

Interesting you play them music, I’ve never tried it but I’ve heard of it being done. I might have to try it

So I am using a 60 watt light that I will be upgrading to a 100 watt light tomorrow actually if the light I ordered comes from Amazon lol. Thanks for the compliment on the plant your the first to look at this thread. I find music helps I don’t do it all the time but it works in my opinion.

The things we do for our plants. I hope they know we love them.

Ill check out some of the music you mentioned. I like all kinds of music. May even play some to my ladies.

I hope your light arrives in time.

Hey @Jmaninthemiddle420 a thought. It would be worth linking your journals in your signature. That way when you comment in other places people can see your journals right there. A lot of the time it's not that people aren't interested, it's that they don't know that it's here :)

Just click on your profile picture in the bar at the top and select "Signature" :thumb:

Yo, J...a comment on the music, MythBusters did an experiment where they hooked up electrodes to plants to see if they have a form of CNS or if they can feel.

They mistreated them, yelled at them, and even hit them. They indeed reacted to the abuse.

A noteworthy finding was the effects that music had on them. They actually noted that the plants responded to heavy metal music in a positive manner, more so than classical.

Is it proof or anecdotal? Different people had different results so was it necessarily the music or was it the "vibe" of the person? That is still up for debate. The findings were there and documented.

Hey buddy how much longer would you say this would be to transplant into a 1 gallon bucket

Well, in my personal experience, my seedling's leaves would already of had started curling over a touch at this height. I also don't get the same results as most.

I start watching the holes I put in the cup's bottom. I look for signs of roots exploring the edge. Once I spot them, I give a few more days before upending them.

If I had to guess on your seedling, I would up pot by the end of next week.

Growers around here use 2 solo cups. 1 clear and 1 opaque. The clear is treated as the pot and kept inside the opaque cup to keep light from getting to the roots. As it grows, they can pull the clear cup out and get a good view of how well rooted the seedling is. I have yet to do this, but my future is filled with more clones than seeds.

I usually guesstimate where the roots are along developing and once seen at the drain holes I am known to upend and pull out just to get a good look at the root ball and determine if ready or more time is needed. The "2 cup method" is far less barbaric. ;)

Hey man how much longer would you say till I could transplant this to a bigger bucket

Hey man! She’s a beauty! I can’t really speak for soil growing, but @Patient Puffer gave you some solid advice these with the 2 cup method.

I usually go by the roots. If they’re well established enough and they’re drinking steadily, that’s when I’d up pot.

This is a clone in Coco, after about 10 days having rooted, and when i up pot to a 1.5L pot. They spent another 2 weeks i there before moving to their final home (bigger pot/dwc).

I increase pot size gradually to build a nice dense root mass. Again though, I don't know if this is the best strategy in soil.
Yours is a very happy little lady though :thumb:
