Hey Mike. Welocme to 420 :). No it won't hurt your plants at all to do that. The real sun is usually always better, if you can get it. In pretty short supply up where I am right now. What do you plan to do for flowering? You can do the same sort of thing then but sticking to the lights on/off times is more important for flowering than it is for the veg stage.

What lights are you using indoors now? You need about 10k worth of light, 6x 1600 lumen cfl's per m2, or hid/hps or led. I havn't seen anything comparing differences in lumen vs yield, except when you're below 10k~ you're going to get a smaller yeild.

Lots of reasons for your first grow to pick one or the other, but not both. By moving the plants in/out, you're exposing your plants to potential pests and blights, random weather, animals, martians and crocod, wait you're out west. Ok, so no martians.

Keeping them indoors you'll have to manage the environment all the time, but you'll be in control (or not), and as hectic and frustrating as your first grow can potentially be, this is not something to overlook or avoid.
