A father and son were released on bond out of Lake County Jail on Friday after being arrested Thursday on suspicion of operating a commercial-grade marijuana concentrate lab in a Lakeport office park.
Jeffrey Shane Oliver, 50, and his son, Timothy Jeffrey Oliver, 20, both of Illinois, were operating what detectives called a "sophisticated" extraction lab at the Gateway Business Complex, 765 Bevins St., according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Officers were tipped off to the lab by several reports noting a strong odor of marijuana coming from their office suite, the Sheriff's Office said.
On Thursday, about 1:20 p.m., officers from the Sheriff's Office's narcotics unit served a search warrant and found the father and son duo actively working inside, the release said.
Inside the suite, detectives found commercial-grade lab equipment, glassware, jars of extract, 220 gallons of acetone and 70 pounds of processed marijuana shake, the release said.
Detectives believe the duo was planning to sell vape pen cartridges illegally.
