Hydroponics, Led's and a grow cabinet

Hard to tell what is true and what isnt at times when you dont have the knowledge to back up one's own opinions and thoughts. I do realize that the only way to get this knowledge is to either learn it by reading or learn it by doing. In my experience with most things in life I find that you have to do both.

Because I am trying to do this in a stealthy way I am focusing on using the Stanley 336 PRO Turn Key Hydroponic Grow Cabinet with Cloning Chamber

From what I have read and seen on the site, it offers the best of worlds that is suited for what I need. No heat, no odour and a cloning chamber with a vegging/flower chamber. Plus it uses hydroponics which I hope will produce a stronger product and a quicker turnaround. The cabinet looks great and just like a big office filing cabinet.

My only concern is the LED's. Hopefully I dont have to worry about that....

So my hope is that all of you Hydro growers If you dont mind could you take a look at the setup for the ACTech and let me know what you think? Not so much for your own setup, but for the details that I put out for my own.

Thank you in advance to everyone for your replies.

I agree about the cost. That truly is the only thing holding me back right now. I contacted the Northern Lights company here in BC and I do like their units, but I have found a lot of reviews that say the odour and heat are an issue. The ACtech unit is %100 guaranteed to have no odour and because they use LED's there is no heat issues. I wonder what kind of yield from an 8 plant hydro setup there will be in a box of that size. I would be happy with a 1/4 pound from each plant, giving a 2 pound harvest every 3 months. That would be nice. Does that seem about right? Anyone have any sense of those numbers or experience with the LED's enough to figure out what the yield may be. I realize there are lots of things that effect the outcome so any thoughts are always speculative.

i dont see that cabinet giving close to 2lbs every 3 months. u want a 4x8' area for that sort yield. the type of leds matter too, just going off what friends on here are doing with led panels, some are great, some are poor. a g/w is quite hard to achieve for a new grower especially with small plant numbers. definately not impossible but not easy wen ur starting out. what type of filter does it use? brave to say 100% guaranteed, i use top quality filters and they dont guarantee 100%. if its possible i suggest u get a quality tent like a hortibox and put ur own set up together using quality rhino filter and if u skeptical about led, using hps in cooltubes.

Wishfull thinking on my part. I will be happy with any kind of yield and as my hone my growing skills I hope to increase it. Getting excited about it now. The hardest part is waiting....tick tock tick tock

yeh ripper, when you first start visions of grandeur flash through your head, sleeping in matresses full of dope n shit LOL but the reality is its a lot of hard work and learning along the way and huge yields require good equipment and a good knowledge base but either way its a fun road and has an awesome destination! for example yesterday I was whinging about being tired after being up all night trimming and how sticky my damn fingers were...Its a hard life lmao
Oh and youll have to work on that patience there is a hell of a lot of that waiting to be had too!
Best of luck with it all man, start a journal and you will soon have heaps of help!!

I will definitely have to find some patience. Toughest part will be to not keep peeking at the grow....sort of like a kid at xmas...lol.

I for sure will start a journal once I am ready with the setup. Now to find some extra cash to get that setup. hmmmm, I wonder if the wife would mind working some double shifts to pay for the equipment...lol

I love the journals. I read a lot of them and it is so interesting to see the progressions of each grow and the learning being done along the way. I am hoping that the hydro setup I want to use will be straight forward and without headaches....but as with anything in nature, it is all unpredictable at times....

Thanks for the kind words and we really do feel for your sticky finger dilemna....oh boy I cant wait till I can complain about that... :)
