Neversink – When firefighters responded to an attic fire at a residence in Neversink early Tuesday morning, they found what appeared to be a marijuana growing operation there.
Electrical wiring of equipment used for the growing of marijuana appeared to be the cause of the fire, State Police said. A search of the residence revealed six marijuana plants damaged by the fire and five pounds of harvested marijuana.
Linda and John Dammier were taken into custody and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree and unlawful growing of Cannabis.
Linda Dammier was released on her own recognizance. John Dammier is in the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
