How to yield 3lbs in a 6 x 6 metal shed

Ok so its my first grow ever im really excited as I did a lot of research but still got more to do just like any apprentice.

I want to grow 3 pounds in a 6 x 6 area , description of my TO BE setup grow below:

*****I will show pictures of the whole setup/grow for better visual as soon as all my stuff I ordered online gets shipped here*****

I want to yield 3 pounds in a 6 x 6 area doing a soil grow inside a metal shed I am building, its already made just got to put it together when it comes in from shipping. Ill dremel out some holes in the thin metal for the the 2 intake fans but one set to exhaust (8") an my inline(6") ac infinity fans in a push pull setup. Of course the intake filter and carbon air filter for clean and ordorless air. Now my setup is a bit of a hybrid because its outside in so-cal where its been surprisingly nice an even temps(65-70 degrees farenheit) but im covered by 3 lemon trees that provide nice shade for my whole shed and the trees may even raise c02 levels since my intake will be there. That aside I will be trying to make the shed pretty air tight an the base was made of basic 2 x 4's for the framing and 2 sheets of ACX plywood for the flooring. I plan on using vinyl waterproof vinyl on the floor and then I need something to make the walls reflective either with silver foil like product or white film to reflect all the light. Ill be trying to get a super soil set up and mixed, and then really the rest is just:

tips/ideas/advice that any of you guys can give me to yield 3 pounds and for first time growers..I know im ambitious for the first try but I want high quality DANK DANK ass buds and 3 pounds. I did some research an found critical kush is a canidate for my grow.

So yeah I just was seeking answers to my question of how to yield 3 lbs of high grade dank buds and to do a review/grow journal... Stay tuned.

Looking forward to your grow journal. Sounds like you enjoy doing DIY projects. So do I! My concern for you would be heat and air. Get yourself a thermometer (preferably wireless and wifi capable) and start monitoring the temps and humidity right away. Make sure after you are done building it the way you want it, that it is a compatible grow area. If not, make adjustments as needed until you get it dialed in the way it should be. THEN get your plants in there. I have rushed things before and I never got the results I wanted. I was not patient enough and after months of love and energy, my crappy grow area simply wasn't good and I lost everything to mold mainly (and eventually pests). Unhealthy plants attract more pests than anything. This year, I am programming myself to be more patient and specific with my general care. Stay more consistent with pest management and overall make sure my soil is healthy so that the ladies are healthy. The healthier they are, the better chance they have at fighting off hurdles that come your way.

I am currently fighting some nutrient deficiencies. I thought I fed them enough and before I knew it, they sucked up all the food and started showing signs. Thankfully newbies like us can rely on people here to help us along when we get in trouble! Best of luck and be sure to link your grow journal here when you get everything started up. Take care.

@BakedARea I do like to do DIY things, I even got into the LED's and will make my own too for myself an buddy growers once I get competent enough in it. Anyways Thanks for the advice on the heater and cooler for the hot temps here in south california. And that monitor with notifications is a great idea as well.

As far as the soil and feeding I been researching a lot and found this out.... Fox farm ocean forest is plug and play, so I can just buy the soil and put my plant their for its vegetative state. Then there was this "super soil" term coined by sub-cool who gave me the info I needed for the flowering phase. Basically with his mix it creates a NO till soil so you can reuse it because of the microbes and self sustaining soil...

I did a lot of research til my head hurt and kept going lol, smoked a blunt and got back to it lol.

It is a ready to go soil...but...I was under the impression that that soil mix still requires amendments at some point. I don't think you would need nitrogen right away but you definitely would need some bloom nutes with that soil. Depending on how long you plan on keeping them in veg and the pot size will have an affect on whether you need to add additional amendments too. Just my thoughts on that.

OK I WILL BE GOING WITH A RDWC AND UPDATE YOU GUYS WHEN MY STUFF GETS HERE(JUNE 6TH SHOULD BE WHEN MY LAST PACKAGE GETS HERE) Ill set up the grow and then keep you guys updated on my progress. Also any nutrients or full nutrient kits like the part A and Part B kits..? Oh one more thing I only like INDICA so any high yielding strains that are potent , you guys recommend ? Ill look some up too but for now critical kush , blue dream are possible options.

You're growing in an enclosed tin shed in South California? I don't want to bring you down but it will be waaaaay to hot for a plant to live. Just calling it how I see it.
Yeah Its under 3 lemon trees that cover it really well like no sun would even touch the shed. I would love to grow outdoor in a greenhouse but my city says we cannot grow outdoors only indoor or in a structure. Sucks , but we are going to move we just have to wait for this covid stuff to subside

Forsure lol an I want to get it all setup so i can monitor the temps and stuff before I put the plants in
Just wanted to make sure you were aware of this. If you can't keep you water temps below 75f, then there's no point really in rdwc.

@BubbleBucketz yeah im aware of it , that was my initial concern but now I think to myself, I got the full shade and nice breeze where the shed will go. Then I was gonna get some 6mil diamond mylar to reflect the heat. for 80 bucks I found a nice roll that will completely cover my shed. I think it will work wish me luck ill keep you all updated.

Hello & Welcome. I see you have the motivation & some pretty good ideas. The only one I don't like is the metal shed. Even the plastic type one would probably be better. I think in order for this to work well you will have to insulate the inside with those 4' x 8' x 1/2" Styrofoam sheets that are reflective on 1 side. Fixes the reflectivity issue & helps keep the shed cool at the same time. I think the Styrofoam is about $8 - $10 a sheet at home depot.

Ohhh this would be a much easier solution. Only thing would be on how to get the styrofoam to stay on the metal shed walls.

I just did my wooden shed. I'm in AZ. though which is even hotter. Every wall & ceiling has R-13 insulation plus the ceiling has the Styrofoam board also. I also sealed every crack & crevice with spray foam & caulking. On top of that it has a window A/C. I haven't got everything for my next grow installed yet to test it out; but I'm still worried it may be too hot. That would suck as I've spent 4 months & close to $2000 to make this work. I had to run electric & all though.

As far as 3 lbs. goes. Shouldn't be too hard with topping & training. I just pulled 10.5 oz. off 1 plant yesterday. Only vegged for 5 weeks & then flipped to 12/12. Only Topped once & the rest was LST.
If you topped 3 times & vegged 8 weeks, with plenty of LST you could probably pull close to a pound. Super Crop it & you will probably get a pound for sure.
I only used FFOF soil & Mega Crop Nutrient through the whole grow. Nothing more.
