How to tell Male from Female?

I have sprouted 4 seeds and they all appear to be male...from what I have studied. Now I am wondering if I let them grow what kind of bud will I get? or will I get any bud and only get shake?

You will not be able to tell sex until they preflower or flower bro.
Preflowers show up towards the end of the veg cycle. This normally takes about two months.
You can force flower early buy changing the light cycle to 12 hrs on 12 hrs off. In 2 days to two weeks the flowers should show themselves.
I suggest you do some more reading on the subject.

I am growing them out doors in the Pacific Northwest. I made a make shift green house and they seem to be survivors. We had a serious snow storm followed by a deep freeze here a couple weeks ago and they are still standing! They are growing slow but steady. I am spritzing them will water and alaskan fish fertilizer.

I guess what you all are saying is wait and see? I have bee reading everything I can get my hands on...do you two have any particular suggestions?

The only thing u can do is to wait and see. you cant tell the sex of a plant when it is a seedling, you have to wait until u switch the light cycle to 12/12. unless of course you have a strain which has auto-flowering traits.

The plants you have now aren't going to survive.
They will be dead in less than 2 weeks.
There's not enough light this time of year--we're just 2 weeks away from the shortest day(light) of the year (Dec. 21 is the winter solstice).
You're plants will grow maybe 6"--8" tall and then keel over and die.
You need to plant annuals like MJ in the spring when the days are getting longer (4/20 is a good date) and harvest in the fall when the days are getting shorter.
So that gives you months to read up on the subject of marijuana cultivation.

Grim predictions guys...they look pretty healthy now. I have them in a green house enviroment. Perhaps they will survive if I bring them into the garage and put light on them. Okay...consider it done!

Today is Jan 09 and all are still living. I moved them and put a marine & plant light on them. The soil is moist and I spritz them with a light Alaskan fish fertilizer regularly. I don't know the sex of any of them. One seems to have much smaller leaves than the other 3. Could this oddfellow be male or female with the other 3 being male? I guess we'll have to see. Good news is your two week death prediction has not come to pass. :rasta:

how old are they now? and what kind is that light you're using? it still sounds like they're not getting enough light... some pics would help

They are 4 - 6 weeks old. The little one keeled over yesterday. I cremated him this morning. I am using a marine and plant ultra violet 24" tube light. I got it at Petco and the guy said it was the best for plants. (I didn't tell him what sort of plants though) They look prett scrawny to me. If they pass over it will be a lesson learned (for me). I have a few more seeds I'll start in mid March like the other fellow said and see if they will survive.

damn RD you come off so abrasively. maybe give the guy some indoor tips rather than tell him on his 1st try "you're shit will be dead in less than 2 weeks"

you do need better light though dude, it sounds like it's not too late to save them. get 'em healthy and switch the light to a 12 hr on 12 hr off cycle. you'll know what sex they are soon enough. (if it's seeds you got out of some sack it will probably take every bit of 2 weeks)
