There are a lot of people on her growing autos hydroponically under LED. But that is not a good place to start. Autos are more difficult to grow and Hydro is more difficult for a beginner. You really ought to reconsider doing something simple and learning about the stage of growth and how the plant works. there is a lot more to learn then people think there is.

I personally think if you want to grow an Auto indoors you should go soilless or hydro so you can more easily manage the messed up nutrient requirements and try not to stunt or cause early flowering.

There are a bunch of reasons why autos are not recommended for beginners but if you have your heart set on it we will get you there.

Anyway to start them use peat plugs. I use mad farmers pH'd plugs.

Mad Farmer Products >> Mad Roots

So a few days in a hood in that and you got a popped seed you can transfer the plug to your medium and your off.

Technically you can just drop your seeds into the medium...I have done that, but the peat plugs are nice longer term setting up the roots in the medium.

Good luck! :goodluck:

Keep doing veg nutes through stretch.

Also there is a hydroponic forum...

and an Autoflowering forum

thanks for your reply villiageldiot..... your right i will more then likely start in soil.... but far as more simple... i thought autos are the most simple way to go?? which would be the best soil in your opinion?

:welcome: to :420: chinky!
You can transplant autos. I don't grow them but I've seen a bunch grown.
I like to use Promix HP. You will need to add nutrients of your choice. I start in solo cups > 1 gal pots > 7 gal pots. With autos, I'd move them once: start in 1 gal. pot and move to whatever size you have room for. You can finish an auto in the 1 gal., but it takes a lot more attention. 3 gallons would work well, IMO.

wassup major pita .thanks for the reply dude....hmmm .so your saying they can be transplanted? i was planning on throwing them straight into the 3 gal pot.... would it be better off starting in solo cups or no? and as far as nutes i have micro, grow, bloom any in addition i should get?

Well - I should have read the title to your thread more closely. I read you planned to start in soil, and didn't pay attention to the "hydro" part of your grow.
Yes - you can transplant and top autos as long as you keep in mind their life cycle. But since I do not do hydro, I don't want to lead you down the wrong path. I find solo cups easiest to manage when going into soil, but I'll leave it to the hydro growers to give you accurate advice on that style.
:goodluck:

im gonna go with pelite and promix organic... and as far as the micro, grow, bloom i know not to give it nutes until it develops leaves... but should i mix them all in one? or seperately during different stages?

You mix them together during all stages of the grow. I always use 1/2 their listed amounts. I use it with Promix HP (no need for more perlite, IMO). No idea of concentrations for the hydro part.
Oh, Rifleman...?

because i read somewhere that quote on quote "many people make the mistake of swiching from vegetative to flowering nutes" on week 4-6? idk which of 3 will be considered which? ....like would the 'micro'' be for the veg stage and grow and bloom is for flowering stage... but your saying i can mix all 3 from veg?...im probably making this way more confusing then it is lol.

It comes down to the proportion of each of the three. No one bottle will give them everything they need at a given point.
BTW, make sure you always add each to a jug of water, one at a time. Never mix them at full strength then add to water.

For example, in small quantities, I add 1/4 tsp Bloom + 1/2 tsp Micro + 3/4 tsp Grow to 1/2 gallon of water (for full veg mode).

distalled, spring or tap water? again thanks for all the info PITA... i defnitley need your feedback along the way when i do my first grow/journal

I use tap water. I'm on a well. I never use anything else and no need to adjust PH, but my water is about 7.0 from the tap and about 130 PPM hardness. Once those nutrients are added, I typically see 6.3 - 6.4 for the PH of the feeding solution.
