Good morning Sammy.
I steam my frozen trim and bud.
I use a baking pan covered in tin foil.
In the oven 50 minutes at 250f.

I use a wine making bag to put the pot in.
Makes it easier to separate.

Merry Christmas Buddy. :high-five:

Break up the buds. Some people have mentioned a quick run through the grinder for that. When I have to make a salve I will just crunch them up between my hands.

Then I spread it out on a larger baking sheet like what is used for cookies or on one or two 6 inch by 9 inch cake pans. Put it in the over set at 200 F to as much as 225F. Then leave it in the oven for 30 to 60 minutes. It can be stirred up if wanted but for the decarb step I doubt that it is necessary.

Write down everything you do. This includes how much weed you used. Weigh it, do not guess. Write down the temperature you set the oven at. Write down the amount of time in the oven and then time if you let it sit to cool off. Write it down because it is highly unlikely you will remember all the numbers the next time you want to make more butter.

Every time write down what you did. Eventually you will notice that some batches come out better than others and you can go back and notice what was different for the good batches versus the mediocre batches of butter.

You can do web page searches looking for what others have recommended about times and temperatures over the years.

The only thing I would add to what Bill and Wings said is test before you cook. Measure out a half teaspoon onto toast. This will let you know how strong both the terpenes and the cannabinoids are. Now you know if a 1/2 tsp is a good dose or make an educated adjustment to the dose. For example you are making 30 cookies, brownies, whatever, you need to substitute 15 Tsp of cana butter. If the terpenes are strong you may want a stronger flavored edible or something that compliments it. A mystery dosed, skunk, sugar cookie is no fun.

That's a great bit of advice there, my first cookie ever was exactly that- no fun lol it wasted me in the worst way possible! Cheers for the advice 👍 Merry Christmas!
