How much spending money should I bring to Amsterdam

I searched around for this and couldnt really find much info. I am going to Amsterdam later this year. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how much spending cash I should bring. I know alot of places don't take plastic, and I am wary about traveling around with a large sum of euros, for obvious reasons. I only plan on smoking two or three grams a day, and I also want to spend alot of time checking out the museums and historcal sites. I will be gone for 5 days. Any advice would be awesome. Also, if anyone has been, coffeeshop and dining recommendations would kick ass. The only shop that is on my "must visit" list is the dolphin. Thanks again!

where did you go to reserve your trip.... how much did it set you back??? Im having the problem of finding a good place to get a package deal.

The only place I could really find was go-today.com. I havent booked it yet because I am still deciding when I want to go. For around $1500 I can go in September-October OR for around $1100 I can go during the cannabis cup. I am more likely to go in October though, Novembers cup is too touristy for me. I am still looking around for the best deal, but I think anything under 2 grand for 5 nights airfare+hotel is pretty resonable and well within my budget.

good link blue thanx for that

ummmm i would go to the bluedog cafe, thats a great place to get weed. Yeh and go to the huge jelly belly shop when your heaps stoned, that place is amazing. I think the heinekin (sp) factory tour is over there and you get some beer while you take the tour. Plus there is some awesome museums and i would go to the Anne Frank house as well.

Your going to have soooo much fun! Now that I'm older I would have soo taken that situation alot more seriously lol- I didnt smoke nearly what I would have now! But it's fun- Don't expect to goto McDonalds n shit for dinner- Over there McDonalds is a fancy place to eat- people dont eat there all the time! I got a Meal which was awesome but it cost me 14.00!!! for fries a burger and a coke! Their soda tastes funny- like alot of things are so different over there- Nothing is open on sundays- thats family day. And they have no idea what chocolate chips are, lol. It's crazy! It was an eye opening experience for me, people over there are so chill and no one is in a rush! It's completly different from here..Go over there with an open mind! Hope you like lunch meat because you'll have like an assload of it for breakfast- One piece of bread and lots of lunch meat lol. I don't remember how much I brought over there, I had everything paid for.

Think of it like being a trip to Las Vegas. You want to go see everything...but you have 10 dollar drinks. Think of the drinks as herb...and think of your buffet's as little "coffee shops" and you will be good to go. Just be sure you have enough dough, I stashed 200 bucks in my little change pocket...it really came in handy near the end of the trip. So...just remember to stash a few hundred bucks. Because if you need it, you have it. If not...you saved two hundred bucks! Ohh...and just be carefull about the weather...it's cold and rainy a lot of the time. But it's beautiful...damn it's beautiful...TAKE THE TOURS! Ohh...and do yourself a favor...remember your sunglasses..but also your EYE DROPS!:allgood:

ohh...and when I went, with flight and hotel(we stayed at the botel for only one night...typical stoners I know.) I spent around 2200 the entire trip. But I stayed about a week, but that also included my trip around holland(remember..herb isn't legal anyplace outside of the coffee shops!). ANd don't forget to try the SHROOMS!!! SHROOMS PLUS PARKS, PLUS WINDMILLS...LIFE CHANGING EVENT!(go outside the city for that one, just bring lots of water!)

Blue, there's an Amsterdam Thread a few months old, located in the FAQ portion of this message board. Do a search for it and I think you'll find some valuable information (and links) in there :)
