How much light

I have a 6'x4' table with 20 plants at 1' apart both directions. and a 1000wat hps. should i have more light? i can almost get 1 oz. per plant at 18'' tall. can i do better or is that average.i dont have a camera sorry and my phone takes crapy pictures, hope to get one soon.

You could deffinately use more light....Only an ounce per plant? Sounds like your 1000watt isnt enough.

I like to see an oz+ per foot.
