How much is too much light?

The sunburn threshold for cannabis is about 70,000 foot-candles. Keep your intensity under that and you will be fine. In my cabinet, despite having over 250W per square foot, my actual luminous intensity in any given area of the cabinet never exceeds about 20-30K foot-candles. Some of the answer to this question definitely depends on the type of lighting, the placement of said lighting, and many other factors like the presence of CO2.

I've experienced bleaching only when my plants are too close to my lights. Makes for an intersting white cola.
