How late in veg do you top?

How late in the vegetating cycle do you top??

How close to moving to 12/12??

It varies, but during veg try to give the plants at least a week, two is better, to recover before going 12/12.

As for when that's pretty strain dependant, but waiting 2-3 weeks allows the basic structure to become apparent, thereby better defining what, if anything, should be done.

When trying to get to the magic 25 posts it helps to give two part answers.

I have done it up into the time your into the first 2 weeks of flower, but I would do it as early as possible so you have very few problems.

like mc says wait at least 3 weeks (if you want them short), then you can still top the new top branches once they reach thier 2nd or 3rd node.

Thats exciting!! I didn't realize or think about topping my plants more than once.

I have an area where I need to keep the plants very short.

Yes....I want to keep the plants short. I am going to top them anyway when they get to their final destination. I thought it would be a good idea to top now instead of waiting because they are growing so fast and I want a strong root system to hold the extra branches.
