sorry for not being more specific. I am wanting to know when you plant is ready to be harvested on the plant how far down do you cut to take the flowering part of with out killing the plant. Is this more specific?
You are trying to harvest the cola and let the rest of the plant grow longer?
Cannabis is a pretty resilient plant. You can pretty much take all you want and as long as there is some leaves and healthy roots they will continue to grow. You can even top them and force them back into veg if you want.
I am just trying to harvest when it is ready to harvest. The tricome glands are all turning milky so the time is soon I think. and I was just wondering how to harvest the plant because it is small and I dont want to kill it. Here is a link to my grow journal to see the plant.Kenya-New Grower
Thanks
If you're growing outdoors the only real option is to kill it after you harvest the bud. Unless you can carefully dig it up and move it inside under lights and put it back on an 18/6 light cycle to force it back into veg. Otherwise it will just die naturally.
Marijuana is an annual plant and dies naturally after it's done blooming.
Unless you want to go for multiple harvests, which I don't think is what you're asking about, you chop down the plant completely when you harvest the buds.
Yep. You can take the cream if you want and then put it back into 18/6 light ccycle to force it back into veg. But it is slow returning to veg. It really slows down the process of harvesting if you do it this way. Thats why its easier to just take some clones off the plant while its in veg.
Since you're growing outdoors and can't manipulate the hours of light your plant gets, you're not going to be able to keep it alive.
It has a life cycle and it will complete it. You could chop the top 1/3 of the plant and see if the lower 2/3 continue to grow and fatten up, but I doubt it would be worth your time.
If you grow indoors, you can put a plant back into vegetative growth after you harvest, but you still have to leave about 2/3 of the plant to reveg.
I don't think second harvests are worth the time or bother, unless you have very specific circumstances, or a lot of stash .
