How do i top

my plants are about 4-6inches high,i see pics of others only 2-3inches high with leaves everywere, how do i cut and were do i cut, do i cut straight across or down in a v between leaves or if any1 has a pic of how would help

I generally pinch the new growth at the top on the 3rd or 4th node just once. This produces multiple tops for me, without hindering overall development.
You may also bend over the tops gently and secure them, this allows the lateral branches to expand. Some call this LST. I learned this method as " Keep 'em Low so the choppers don't get em"
