How do I build and use the Cheapo-Aero cloner and similar units?

The device is simply another version of aero cloning.
It was designed as a cheap and simple alternative to buying a ready made aero cloner and it is easier to build and operate than the other home made aero cloning tub designs, so it was nicknamed Cheapo-Aero.(click here for building instructions)

It works on the principal of the cuttings stem being suspended in an open airspace, which is intermittently misted by water droplets. Sometimes called simply "bubbling tub aero cloning".

is 76 degrees F to hot for the cuttings? Just wondering if the heat from the water pump is going to cause problems? he water feels warm, planning on running the pump on a timer just have to figure out how long to leave on and off?

Yes 76 is way to high. Keep the temps in between 50-70. You can use frozen water bottles to drop the temps. Your pump will cause the res temps to rise.

Thanks man, was worried about the roots that are just starting rotting out, I'll start freezing some bottles

Just threw in a 20 ounce frozen bottle of water and also hooked the pumps power to a pump timer, set it ar 10 mins on and 30 mins off. Does that sound ok? Im hoping the pump taking a 30 minute break after running for ten will in turn lower the temps. So far the cuttings seem to not mind much but I do know that eventually root rot would be visiting them. Not bad for 6 days.

Looks good. Yea just keep the temps down are algae will start building up in the water. Add 10ml of peroxide every water change that will keep your res clean and roots nice and white. Also it's extra o2
