Hello Everyone. My name is Retrix and I have something to say.
I am a chronic pain sufferer from a problem with my nervous system. I have been battling my condition for quite a few years. I have been to many different doctors and have felt like a test subject in my plight for a normal life.Usually my treatments would consist of numerous anti depressants, muscle relaxers, and narcotic pain medicines. You could consider me a poster child for cannabis reform, and after you hear my story, you will know why. Various doctors have been prescribing me opioid pain medication for years. And I no doubt became dependent on them. After years and years of taking this "legal" form of medicine for my ailments, I started to get scared of the prospect that although I desperately needed to take them to function, I was in fact, a drug addict. There just isn't any other way to put it. One day, I decided that I was not going to take narcotics anymore, and I figured that there had to be another way. I discharged myself from my doctor and quit taking pain pills cold turkey. It was to worst 3 weeks of my life. Countless nights laying in bed, cold sweats, crying from my nerve pain, rocking back and forth, not eating, pacing the house for hours and hours, not sleeping for 2 days at a time. It wasn't fun.
One night, while sitting at my desk in a severe withdrawal session, I prayed to God that if he would just see me through this, I would never put another opioid pain pill in my body ever again. I vowed on that night at 2 a.m. in the morning to find another alternative, any other alternative to this. And so that was my prayer, every night for 3 weeks. Thanking him for getting me through just one day, today. We can worry about tomorrow, well, in the morning. I went online and started researching alternatives to narcotic pain relievers for chronic pain. First I tried growing Opium poppies from Afghanistan. I planted them outside in huge pots, and they grew into these huge exotic looking plants that did not look natural at all. Just imagine a 4.5 foot tall flower with a almost baseball sized poppy in the center of it and you get the idea. The neighbors started walking by my house and gawking at it. As we all know, growing poppies is very much illegal and I felt that there was no way I was going to be able to play dumb if law enforcement showed up, so I waited until nightfall and quickly chopped them down and into the compost bin they went. Back to square one.
I was then researching natural pain relievers and came across medicinal cannabis. I had heard about people using cannabis for pain but I thought they were joking. Seriously. But after doing lots of reading, I realized that there is actually something to this. I went on 420 and started reading about the Blueberry Autoflower and how Indicas are really good for pain. I quickly ordered 5 Auto Blueberry seeds and popped them in a bag of Miricle Grow moisture control in 3 gallon smart pots. I didn't know what I was doing back then, but I still managed to get over 2 ounces off of each plant. The first time I smoked it, It was a late August evening. I took a few puffs and walked outside. It was just starting to get dark and the crickets were singing. I leaned up against my car, closed my eyes and cried. I felt this incredible Euforia washing over my and the pain I was feeling just melted away. For the first time, in a really long time, I was pain free. I could not believe it. I knew from that point on, that Cannabis has to be legalized. There is no way that anyone can tell me that this plant was not put here by God for us to consume for our health. That was 3 years ago. After ordering those 4 little seeds and growing them, my entire life has changed. I haven't taken a pain pill since the day I smoked that first Blueberry.
No Judge, Law Enforcement official, or politician, can ever tell me that Cannabis is a bad thing, And I will go to the highest mountain top and preach that until the day I die. And with that being said, I would like to give back to the community that helped change my life for the better. I have decided to post my Very first Grow journal here on 420 Magazine. Who knows, maybe there is one person out there who is addicted to pain pills, that needs help and they just don't know how to find it. That is at the end of their rope. Perhaps they are having suicidal thoughts and just don't know where to turn. If I can do anything to help by posting my experience with growing medicinal cannabis then that is exactly what I am going to do.
God Bless all of you, and thank you to 420 Magazine for helping to save my life.
Please come and view my First Cannabis journal "The Blue Experience" because it takes a village to grow these ladies.
