Just wondering what size res others are using with coco dtw .
How long between top ups or clean outs ? Weekly i assume would be ideal ..
Sterile or bennies ?
Any other ideas hints or tips welcome
On a side note, how do u regulate the waterings to be even? Would they be even enough using 1 pump with a manifold type setup?

Hey rhetorrikz. Here's what I got: 20 gallon Rubbermaid with 15 gallon res and 2 plants in it.
4" pots with 100% perlite only because so many people having success with it. I have 2 long air stones running per res.
The res I was changing every week but going to change that to every 2 weeks as The water seems fine only need nutes.
I don't wipe out res unless it's dirty, just drain and refill from 55 gallon drum already PH and nutes added from the day before. 1000w MH dimmable aircooled hood set at 600w with the glass out as its cold here in the north. Nutes is a 1-1-1 from a local here in the area. i just follow directions plus 1/2 tbsp molasses per gallon and 1/2 tbsp Epson salts per gallon. Seems like the girls like it.
I find the more I read here the more I mess with my things, so many good ideas and practices. You just need to find what's good for you and your time schedule..

Thanks guys, ive ran a diy r-dwc setup a while ago works well in the cooler months and latley ive been doing passive hydro 2 gal coco hempys with a perlite 1" res, hand watering.
Mixing and ph'ing a 5 gal nute mix daily or every second day is tiring, im moving my flower room soon and was thinking of automating waterings. Maybe 20-30gal res ? Probably use h202 and keep it sterile ... it may be easier to keep waterings even with a flood and drain and not do individual drain to waste.. in the end nothing is simpler than hand watering, theres much less to go wrong, what are other opinions ?:passitleft:
