Mine was terrible,i was 10weeks in on 2 mama mia autos, bad tent location and hi humidity , bud rot, lost 3/4 ofy grow..
Since iv relocated tent and bought dehumidifier..

1st indoor grow I got me and my roommate busted in 1979. Set up a couple 4 ft fluorescent light fixtures, no idea where the soil came from and had Columbian Red, Gold and Thai seeds. I knew about the need to flip to 12/12 (Ed Rosenthal's book) but that was about it as far as water, ph, nutrients, etc. Made the mistake of putting one sickly Thai seedling on a second story windowsill and a neighbor called the cops. They took about 12 6 inch seedlings and a 1/2 gallon mason jar full of Columbian seeds...ended up with lawyer fees and probation for a year. Otherwise several attempts each summer to drop Columbian or Mexican seeds outside...never saw a real flower other than males on any of the S. American strains we tried to grow out in mid-Michigan in the late 70’s early 80’s. First real grow is now in progress 40 years later and so far so good thanks to help from the growers on this site.

First of all, sorry you had to go through the legal trouble. Lots of us keep saying "one day" but it's not coming quick enough. Time to put an end to this ridiculous law.
Second, I grew up in mid-Michigan! Not there anymore, but I definitely started smoking it when I grew up there.

Hi all. I didn't think of my first two grows as failures but valuable learning experiences.
I started growing when it was legalized. Everything was new to me; tent, lights, ventilation and so on. I was given two clones that were "considerately" infested with spidermites. Then I had a difficult time dialing in my tent setup. I also subjected those two clones to what humans would term cruel punishment. About the only thing I did not do was under-water them. Of course harvest was a disaster that resulted in buds that were decent sized but airy. Forget thc content.
Subsequent grows (#2 & 3) fared much better but still not up to par. At least I get high although the taste and aroma still elude me.
So for the new year I have started two 15G pots of home mixed soil and sowed some white dutch clover for cover crop. I plan on adding some worms but already I have made a mistake by not inoculating the seeds prior.
Fun stuff, this learning something new business. Cheers.

the only thing I got out of my first grow was pollen. I planted 4seeds and grew 4 male plants. ok so I also learned a lot that first grow.

Very nice! Scrog net too! How many plants you got here? Would you recommend doing multiple plants or just one om my first time?

3 all together. I think the number of plants you want to do depends on how big the space is and what kind of grow you’re doing. Personally, I’d say 2 max, but that’s just me.

That's what I was thinking to start with, 2. I've got pineapple express seeds.

I retired a couple years ago and have been gardening for years.
I figured if I could grow tomato’s I could grow cannabis .
Someone gave me 4 random seeds so early last spring I put each in a 4”x4” plastic pot w/ my favorite potting soil and set in the greenhouse. I watered randomly w/ tap water. Two developed into leggy 8” tall seedlings and I transplanted to one of my raised beds next to sunflowers.
One grew about 5’ tall and the other was 3’ tall .
I only watered and a few times added some tomato plant food.
Last Oct I harvested both plants and got 12 full large mason jars of an excellent sativa.
My buddies were impressed.
Easy right ?
2cd grow was during this winter inside a room in the garage.
I learned inside growing was a bit more involved than my garden.
The end result was a male and a bunch of hermis .
Damn seeds.
3rd grow is happening now both inside and out.
I have learned a lot but a very long way to go.

My first grow was 2lbs and lost it all to bud rot. My 2nd grow was worse. Now I average 18-20oz off a single indoor plant in 120-125 days from seed. Like everyone says reading is key. 99% of questions have already been answered on here 10x over. The other 1% you won't need for years.

my first two were actually pretty good considering i was only using a 150w hps and some cfl bulbs for supplement. but my 3rd grow was a total disaster. 2 1000w hps lights in a 5x8 tent with 32 plants in 3 gal pots. scrog. first got some powdery mildew, then went out of town for 2 weeks and my partner/roommate didnt keep up with the feeding and some were nearly dead when i got home.. then way way more PM. then to top it off, it was 7 different strains so the canopy was uneven, and a good portion of the genetics were also dog shit. i ended up harvesting 32 plants, only about 7 or 8 of which came out proper. some other ones came out just okay, and the majority were larfy shitty dead grass trash. i ended up with like 3.75oz of good bud, and 15oz of dog shit. and 18.75 oz out of a 5x8 with 2k watts is just awful.
OK, you will probably get a laugh out of this one. My 1st grow was my smallest yielding grow (2.5 oz. per plant). But it was the most potent stuff I've grown to date. 3.5 years have passed & I still haven't been able to grow anything that potent. What the hell am I doing wrong ? My 1st grow I had temps between 90 F & 98 F the whole grow & I had no clue what I was doing. Since getting everything dialed in as they say things should be all the weed has been less potent. Seems like the more I dial things in the weaker the weed gets. I don't understand it at all. Makes no sense to me.
Genetics? ... or there’s always those pesky gremlins running amok.

Im in my first week of flower, I have broke stem weaving them, drowned them, and fried them with heat.

Man I'm just going into flower and I've learned so much. I had a LOT of heat problems at first as I'm using HPS lights. Since then I've gotten an AC unit just for my tent and oh boy the plants loved that, they've exploded to almost 4ft in height since then. I probably could have transplanted earlier as well because I almost root bounded them all...

just joined this community and absolutely love all the info/advice and passion i see here.
thought id add some of my first grow, i have read up a lot and am attempting to now grow myself. I am busy building the main grow room but have had my mothers going for a while in another box, just took my first clones from them. they are GSC.
have my mothers under 150w MH but going too 2 x 400w in the main room.
please all the advise given will be much appreciated.
