So this is what I have going on, after starting with See More Buds book “Buds For Less” read it while on Vacation in Cuba then got it going in my furnace room.

Because while I read the do’s and don’ts I still learned my share of lessons and over trimmed, over fertilized etc.

That evolved from CFL’s to T5HO to LED dual switch (Veg + Flower). And I must say- invest in lighting.

I’m trying to do this while not pissing off the Mrs’s and drawing unwanted attention.

Not to mention I just don’t have the space (Yet) to go bigger.

So here’s what I got;

Plastic Shed that houses a 27” Deep X 54” Wide X 6.5ft tall tent (looking at the door)

Inside I’m running
450W LED
4” In line fan on a speed controller
Seedling heat mat (I live in Vancouver- so it’s cold but not that cold)
250W Incandescent Heat Lamp
1- small concrobium moisture grabber
Small hurcane fan
12” round household fan for circulation.

I started my seeds in September and harvested them last weekend. Hopefully be done for Christmas.

Nov 28th I planted new seeds and will keep you guys updated.

Here’s what they’re in now;
Seeds started in coconut coir pucks
And put into a smaller pot with Promix HP.

I’m not looking for massive yields- as this is for my own personal stash. So I’m able to better attend to the needs of the plant and find soil works for me.

Strains:
Megadon, Rockstar Kush and Master Kush (seeds from some dispensary bud that was on sale)

Plus I have great soil when the plants are done for spring tomatoes :)

Also from Van,

I'm in... nice set up!

Very cool. Great place to be, and Thank You! It took a bit.

At one point I robbed a wooden shelf off the wine rack downstairs. Put some hooks on it and mounted the T5 lights under it.

I started with 42W spirals. But they were way too cumbersome.

Once I got the LED- it was game on.

You also have a nice little setup!!

DWC Deep Water Culture i believe, I took 3 cuttings off two plants and stuck them in a bucket with an air stone and water, they rooted quickly(well 2 of them did). I moved them into a kitchen bin container with water and air stone, in the next 4 weeks the stalks grew way thicker than anything i grew in soil( that was my game on), i was away for 3 days and when i returned the growth was amazing. Why o why did i take so long to venture down this road, Pics will follow. regards

Subbed. Heluva nice "hobby" setup WCH. :) You've got all the pieces in place real nice.

I used to have a sweet little 5x5 mystery room in my basement under the outside stairs, you couldn't even tell it was there. Easy to set up lots of room. At my new place I've got another good room, a huge cold storage area, but it's underpowered. So for now I'm getting ready to do a tent setup too, which I've never done before. I'll be watching with interest.

Thank you! It took some time and lots of little adjustments as I went.

With tent the key thing is keeping temp and humidity in line (like any room I suppose) but I feel it's pretty easy to get the growing conditions nice. Especially in the winter.

You could put a nice tent inside the cold storage room. Be perfect. Especially for the summer.

I got 3 spaces to use, small but enough for myself, have not been on the streets for the runaround bad crap gear and being ripped off undesirables and shit for 3 - 4 years, pretty amazing liberating thing, not to mention the satisfaction of Grow your own content feeling. all good. Oh a wee bit rant there. the magical journey this community sharing. regards

So it's been about 5 weeks since I planted the seeds. And 3weeks for "Sprout" (Rockstar)

The plants experienced some cold weather while seedlings so they've taken a little longer. They seem to be rebounding nicely.

My question- I've looked at them. But they all seem to be F. I can't tell with Sprout yet... but I'm confident she will be fine. All her other sisters were OK. I just killed them in the learning process. One crop due to extreme outdoor heat with inadequate air circulation.

Is it still to early for the sex to reveal itself?

Also- I saw on Moss's thread he's thinking of using a ceramic reptile heater bulb. It's a ceramic coil that plugs into a light socket.

I'm trying to find a safe way to keep them warm at lights off. I'm hoping to switch them soon.

Will a seedling Mat suffice? It won't get cold enough to harm the flower. But I want the roots to stay warm which in essence should keep the plant warm.

I'm also going to go see my local hydro store and pick their brains. But would appreciate any suggestions.

I love my LED sun glasses BTW. They double as a lens filter on my phone ;)

How are your plants now, been a while hope you rolling good. regards

The pictures were from last night. I've since installed a larger seedling heating Mat. I think this should suffice to make sure the plants are able stay healthy through the night. I don't believe there is enough danger for freezing. Nothing has frozen to date in my shed. I doubt the plants in the tent will.

I bought a M.O.N.D.I. It was a 18.00 gizmo that will monitor the min and max levels of your r.h and temp. You know- while you're not around.

It's perfect for me to monitor the next couple days inside the tent and outside. Then I can check the forecast and plan for any needs.

The Seedling heat mat will keep it 20F degrees above ambient.

I've switched them to 12/12 now. I'm hoping with the lights off time from 7am-7pm- that my exterior ambient won't get too low. And therefore during the cool nights I'll be fine with the lights.

So far RH isn't an issue. I hooked up my exhaust fan to get some air changes going.

I'm heading away for a bit next weekend- so I want to get it dialled in before I leave.

I ordered a temp controller. It has a fan and heater section for day and night.

My tent has some serious condensation in day one of my flip.

I figure if I can control temp- I can control humidify and condensation...

It's hard not to want to peek at them. Now that they're off from 7am to 7pm.

Would it hurt to put it at 16/8 to help with heat load or is 12/12 best.

I'll post update pictures tonight.

Subbed in bit late but following . I'm across the pond but also grow in a shed so know what it's like dealing with heating and humidity issues.

I bought a mini electric dehumidifier which does a great job I'm able to keep humidity at 35/40 RH during flower, and for heating I have a 1500W oil heater on the outside of the tent which has a thermostat controller to keep the temps around 18c when lights are off.

What's the temps outside in van this time of year?

Love Vancouver spent a lot of time there as have family that live there. It was Canadian weed that inspired me to want to grow as it's like nothing we get on the street here. It helped me sleep no end and was just very pleasant.

Hey buddy- thanks for coming along.

I've been toying with a oil heater. The warning that says not to use with an extension cord has me concerned.

Because I'm running this off a 120V 15A Circuit with a 30A extension cord to my shed- I need to be careful of load. I only have 1440W of safe load. So I'm trying to pick and choose my battles.

I think a dehumidifier wouldn't be a bad idea though. I can use my exhaust to introduce cool air from the shed back into the tent and use it almost like a heat exchanger.

Fuck!!

You're a genius!

That's what I'll do- I'll exhaust the hot air into the shed and maintain the RH outside and allow the inside to do its thing. It's such a small space that I can rely on the air movement, heat to maintain a steady RH.

In theory it should work. I hope!

Think of it like a double walled mug.... with my tent being the beautiful nectar in that mug!

Where abouts across the pond? Like- the Island?

I grew up on the island (teenage and early adult) it's still my favourite place to be!

Nevermind. I see the UK part in your profile.
