Hi new grower here: I need some help, please

So being trapped at home with coronavirus causing like a shut down of society. I decided to start growing cannabis at home to fill a lot of my free time I find myself in with a bit of a nice payout at the end for myself.

Here in Ontario I can legally grow 4 plants so I bought a 4 plant kit. (4' x 4' Complete 4 Plant Hydroponics Grow Tent Kit)

I also bought the Bestva 2000w LED to use instead of the included light.

I am waiting for my order to arrive but i think I may have already screwed up. I don't have a reverse osmosis system, should I get a ro system, or can I use my 3M Filtrete water filter, or a 10 step filter I could buy for about 100$ that gets rid of chlorine and chloramine but it re mineralizes the water.

I have been writing down what I could remember about growing through DWC from my research. Sorry about the colour and mess my handwriting is.

Any hints/tricks/guides that you can recommend with my setup would be much appreciated. Thank you all in advance ❤

Welcome @Anewhydrogrower! I been growing in soil for about a year now, I started a little DWC experiment but I didn't measure or plan or nothing. Just some clones and guesses .

We have a bunch of big hydro brains here, you might start a journal now...that way you can lure some of them in to hang out and help. You can get good answers here in the intro section and someone will come along eventually, but you don't need to be growing something to start a journal, and that's where the real quality ongoing help and learning happens. Welcome to 420 Magazine, I’ve run a lot of hydro setups and I used RO water 1 time and went back to tap water.

Do you do anything with your tap water first @Pennywise ? But overall in your opinion regular filtered water is totally acceptable?

Filtered water is fine, let it set for 24 hours before you mix your nutes and you’re golden.

Tap water is totally fine to use in Dwc like Penny just said let it sit out for a day and your good to go.

The 1 time I used RO I fought deficiencies until I realized it was the water causing all my problems. Went back to tap and haven’t had any problems since. Unless I had a brain fart and dropped the ball.

So for my 4 plant, 5 gallon buckets. I'll need 4 buckets to store water out for a day? Or I guess 1 much larger barrel.

You can put out the 4 buckets to let them de clorinate. I use double the buckets I need so I can let the new ones sit for a day then mix your nutes and ph them so your ready to go for your res change.

No sunlight. I bubble mine for 24 hrs before adding my nutes.
