Hey all as you can tell by the location of this post I am new here , I am a 41 year old Ontario canada resident who presently is about 8 weeks from finding out if I got my MMar PUPL or(personal use production licence) My pain specialist is also my sleep specialist as well . I would have applied years ago if I had know that chronic pain due to spinal injury puts me in the same category with hiv/aids ,cancer,MS, Major forms of arthritis and glaucoma. Basically I was hit by a drunk in a pick up truck while walking thru a plaza and when i saw his mirro comming at my face my first reaction to protect myself ended up with my arm wedged between the old style tubee frame bars on his ancient truck wich resulted in me being dragged over the hoods of several cars at 30kmh and at the end of each hood the resulting swinging action which slammed my lower back into the front fender of the next car. Spent several years on oxycontin and percocet as well as toradol for muscle spasms.
But along the way it seems i have also developed chronic insomnia, fibralmyalgia, sleep apnia, depression ,stress based anxiety ,chronic migraines and chronic fatigue most of wich I blame directly to the damage i suffered at the hands of the Drunk Driver who by the way turned out to be a Metro toronto Fire department criminal fires unit member, and who was also for 15 years a Metro toronto police officer. what sucked most of all of this is the local police took 10-14 days locating him for questions when they caught up to him they could find no damage to his trucks mirrors from the impact (but how hard is it to get factory extra extension mirror frame for a 20 year old pick up at the junkers ) anyways when questioned he told the officers he ws told he hit me but didnt believe me and when he was told I would call the police to let them sort it all out he left the scene his story was he was told but didnt believe me and left that is his exact statement to police who didnt even charge him with leaving the scene of the accident where even though with the evidence or lack of it If he had stayed at least my own insurance would have been able to treat it as a standard vehicle/pedestrian accident allowing for better coverage but as the police decided to not charge him with anything all i got was a lot of pain 2500$ for physio and 10 years of opioid treatment for pain that has left me out of work (my profession at the tim eof accident was technical support operater for IBM). But anyways my doctor has agreed with the medical marijuana program and is already a doctor who has been prescribing it since the inception of canadas MMAR. So I am about 8 weeks from getting my licence to use smoked/ingestion combination of 7-10 grams per day which shold allow me to store 300g/month and by canadian laws I can keep a 4 month supply of 1200g in my home to allow for the average of 4months to grow a plant from seed to maturity.

Anyways Planiing on growing with a 4 x 4 ebb and flood table but not sure how much light i will need dont want to waste any light or power if I dont have to and I also want to keep temperatures down. My plan however is to keep 4 -6 strains of mother plants and then grow them 2weeks of veg from clone under 600w mh conversion 18/6 hrs/day then switch to 600w hps at 12/12 for flowering all this is in a bathroom in my house no longer being used so we will be removing all the fixture except the tub wich makes for a great place to put down a 5 x 4 sheet of plywood for the ebb tray the entire room is 8'x 7'x 6.5'high also the basement appt we live in usually hold a temperature around 64-68 degrees during the winter and the same in summer due to central air basically wondering if the 600w hps is sufficient for the size of table or should i go for a hortilux 1k hps with reflector and balast that is 100$ cheaper then the 600w not including the conversion bulb but not sure if the 1k will produce to much heat in this room or if I will be wasting a ton of lumens and also need an opinion on if I do go with the 1k hps should i worry about a mh conversion for a 2 week veg period?

Hello!!

So sorry to hear about your accident!
But congrats on getting on the medical marijuana program, and looks like you've already got all plans for the grow, i dont think the 1K HPS is needed really if your already getting a 600w hps. If it is cheaper somehow go with it though, probably worth while, as i dont think you'll have an issue with hear if you have a good fan system.

Had a major fal thru Turns out my Dr is a member of CSAM which is the board in canada of DR's in chronic pain treatment who are especially dedicated to addiction medicine for when opioid treament patients become addicted well they have a policy about medicinal marijuana not being tested enough and therefore there policy is its more harmfull then good so when my forms went thru because of his membership Health canada contacted him and reminded him of board policy and asked him if he still wanted them to proceed as it might cause him hot water from the board. So now I am stuck he will help me get my exemption but needs me to locate a Dr in the toronto area or surrounding area who has prescribed cannabis before so he can refer me so if you know of any canadian Dr's in toronto area I can give there name to my Dr so he can make referal and explain the situation It would be appreciated.

sure wish we had medicinal marijuana clinics like the one I saw listed the other day a whole bunch of Dr's in one place who just require you to bring in any medical files pertinant to your problem so they can add it to ther files and then they examine you make recommendation and also continue to monitor condition like mri's for back injry etc
