I was thinking sometimes tracked or circular light movers aren't reasonable for small grow area's. What about a stationary mover?

My idea is this, you make a mover on a pivot to twist the angle of the surface of the light. I made this drawing to explain the principle and to show that this can made as a standalone device or incorporated directly into the light.

You can do this right now with a camera mount, just wire the little manual controller for up and down and side to side to stepper motor controllers or computer control and set it up for X to travel 10-20x faster than Y.

Anyway, hope someone gets some good out of this idea.

Cool idea Mountain High!
I'm real big on movers and have been playing with both the track and chain driven type for leds and T5s.
Main thing is having a slow moving motor with lots of torque and is rated for continuous use and you're on your way!
I did this set up with a 2' 8 bulb T5 panel and a common light rail motor. I think it would work for an led panel too. I've used it for UFO leds in the recent past
The rail is only a three foot section of track with the butterfly stoppers so the light actually only travels a distance of only 10". It moves to the back wall and then comes out 10" and back again. I have the motor set to stop for 30 seconds at the end of the travelled distance and then it repeats the process.

The hardest thing for me was getting the light to balance and then preventing it from swinging around and banging into the walls. This probably would'nt be an issue with an led panel that is evenly balanced in weight. It was not an issue when I had a ufo on the mover.
I ended up making some bumpers out of bmx handle bar padding and duct taping them to the corners of the lights to work as soft guides during travel.
I'm lucky to have built this cab small so the walls are nice and close to the light for the bumper guides to work but if I did'nt have the walls so close the swinging issues would have to be worked out another way.

On another note it is very much worth it to invest in movers imo. This mover has basically added about 1/3 more coverage to the light than if it was stationary. I can only drool and imagine what it could do for a hi qualtiy led
