Things that cause white powdery mildew/mold...leaf on leaf contact (defoliate), high humidity, lack of airflow, no or poor ventilation.

I've never used one but have read that sulfur burners will get rid of powdery mildew/molds..I have also read that you can use neem oil, milk, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda.

I had powdery mildew and got rid of it quickly with a solution of 2 teaspoons of organic apple cider vinegar per quart of water. I removed the plants from their tent and liberally sprayed them with this solution which instantly killed the mildew. I then check my plants daily and spray any parts that show signs of the mold returning. This was a cheap and easy fix with the added bonus of keeping my grow completely organic. I found the organic apple cider vinegar at my local supermarket and I think it costed around six dollars for a bottle.

Also.....I noticed the mildew when my plants were in full bud mode and was able to use the organic apple cider vinegar solution right on the buds with no ill effect. Another thing I learned was to not water my plants unless they were going to get at least five hours of light (I grow inside) so I now water my girls at the beginning of a light cycle and this has really helped. Also make sure you have good ventilation if growing indoors.
