Help! What is up with this thing?

So I have a single plant that did not get eaten and here is the deal. I'm in the central zone so its already getting cold in mornings, but no frost. It was originally planted outside in late April. It has started to bud, but the plant only grew 19 inches tall. Why?? It almost looks like the in tire and stem will be one big bud. Did I do something wrong? There are tons of white hairs on it and it is about an inch and a half around right now. When should I axe it? The plant is perfectly healthy just really short and not very bushy. Any help would be great.

sounds like your doing fine, if you wanted it taller you should have planted it earlier, now sit back and watch it rippen.

I would say it is about 50/50 white to orange hairs. Its getting cold, I think I should give it a few more dsays. What do you think?

Well i think the longer it rippens the better it will be, if it freezes it might die though. I'm not sure. but i think it could still be dried and cured if it froze.
