Swick is bed of perlite that plants can sit in, like a plastic tote tub just add water to perlite and it will wick up to supply your containers. Use shallow tote tubs if possible to help with air flow. Hardside plastic containers (I believe) they must be nestled slightly down so perlite covers like bottom inch of buckets, fabric pots will directly wick from wet perlite.
never ran swick myself but our Miss @Trala is a pro who can hopefully drop intel.

ohh just reread and noticed coco… lemme ask @Bill284 to jump in just to be safe. Might be able to set your feed water in the perlite at 5.8 but dunno how swick might impact ph but think it will fly for weekender.
