Help me diagnose?

Hey guys. I'm growing a 100% indica strain in 40%petite 60% plant Magic soil.

I gave them a 1/4 strength feed already. Let them dry out and then I gave them just water 2 days ago and transplanted them. This is all in more detail and accuracy on my journal.

So the bottom of the leaves have started to yellow suggesting Nitrogen deficiency? but there is yellow edges on my leaves and I'm not sure but it could from the over watering or it could be a deficiency. I'm really not sure.

Also on one leaf is a dirty brown spot that I've not seen before? Please any suggestions?

Are those 3 bladed leaves? If so they are secondary growth leaves. They're supposed to yellow and fall off.
I'm more concerned about the tips turning yellow. That's a sign of nutrient burn or manganese deficiency. You can't add manganese and the problem is directly related to incorrect soil ph.
The other and very possible scenario is that you have simple nitrogen deficiency.
But instead of just adding more nitrogen you should test the soil. Adding nitrogen with a lockout PH would be very bad.

Remedy. Test soil ph with a slurry test or PH/Moisture probe. Testing runoff will not give you accurate results. You need to test the soil itself.
You can use these cheap kits available at Walmart, Home Depot, etc.

Or use the probe.

I recommend the 4 part test kit as it will diagnose the problem quickly and prevent you leading to an additional problem. Nutrient lockout.

You may have nutrients in your soil but your plant can't access them as the pores on the fibrils of the roots close up to protect themselves.

Hope this helps.

Hey Jimmy thanks for your help. I've ran the tests. The Ph soil probe came out at 7 average and the soil oh test kit is telling me slightly acidic (6.5) so if anything on the next water I'll ph down to 6.2 or ? This soil self buffers and I've been PHing water to 6.3-6.5

No point in adding this pic as you can't see solution properly but heyho

If you're growing in soil 6.5-7 is perfect. This would rule out manganese deficiency. So we now know your ph is good. Now measure NPK and those results will tell you the problem.

If your ph is good and your plant is yellow or pale green it's almost always nitrogen deficiency.
Get the kit and test it.

It could be a deficiency due to lack of nutes applied. Only one feed quarter strength dose. Maybe ten days ago I'll check now

The kit will reveal all. Nitrogen will come up N1 (light pink....very low) if your soil Nitrogen is depleted. You want it at N3 (Bright purple)
But not N4 (Dark purple) that will result in nitrogen toxicity.

No. for veg you want high nitrogen (N3 on the test chart). For flower very low Nitrogen high PK.
Nitrogen is used to build the plants vascular and respiratory system. This is the structure that includes leaves and Stams as well as the root system and it's rhizosphere.
When the plant has matured and is beginning to develop flowers it no longer requires nitrogen and instead heavily relies on phosphorus and potassium to create the building blocks necessary for flowering.

If you are in soil and the ph is good, leaves that are yellow and soft feeling need N. Usually will start at the bottom.
I was thinking the same. Question though. The tips of each leaf (new growth and old) the yellow doesn't strike me as mute burn because they don't look like the tips have died. It looks a lot like how an early nitrogen deficiency effects the leaf except it's only the tiny tips of each leaf.. any thoughts anybody? Thanks

If only there was some way to test your soil.
Oh well. Maybe in some crazy future world we'll have the technology to test for Ph and NPK.

You've come across as a douche.. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say you was playfully suggesting rather than patronising ;)

I've asked for thoughts. To your knowledge does yellow tips point to an obvious ailment ?

Thanks

New friend :)

Also can anybody confirm what this is? Little bits of silvery grey on the leaf. Shiny like metal reflecting my mh. Is it due to exposure to cold? Thanks

They don't show their greyness on camera but they do reflect the light. Those shiny spots are reflective thanks all (y)
